It's been a year since we got these fine ships and even in the new wonderful expansion it's not possible to use a cloak and a cyno generator at the same time?

The devs have stated that this bug is a hard one to fix which would mean a (as far as I am aware) a BIG change that would take quite awhile. As they said "there is no easy fix
So don't expect this in kali 1 i guess

Make it a scanning ship, greater accuracy or faster scanning per level
Not to sure how the new system works but mehs
They cannot fufill their current role for the distant future due to the coding so change the roke instead of having a half assed implemented one

If they going to have one of the best ships in the game have a useles bonus, they might as well change it to something else. I'd really like to see the recons with the ability to use scanprobes as well as covops' can, but meh, we'll probably be stuck with a useless bonus for a loongggg time now.
On another note, I actually sort of wish that the recons would get a 20% bonus to cyno field length, as in at Recons V the cyno field could be pretty much activated, then immediatly deactived. This would actually make capital ship movements pretty hard to track, and ambushing a fleet with a capship fleet would be viable.

Feck the cyno/cloak bug.. But I never use recons in that role anyways so And heres a thought.. If your enemy warps to the cyno field wont they just uncloak you when they get near it? Or can you move away from it after its deployed? KALI:Revelations.. Putting the Waaaa back in Piwat.. |

Well, I think its pretty obvious that CCP has never really taken the time to look at what exactly is wrong with the Recon ship bonus, I mean why the hell are we going to use a 100m+ fitted ship when a 200,000isk does the job just as well. Its not like Ozone is expensive enogh for us to really care about the bonus of a Recon ship, and I'll be ****ED if I'm going to sit still for 10 minutes so every hostile in the area can see where my cyno is via the in-game map so they can come and blow me up. I already said it once; Screw the bonus to Liquid ozone amount and instead give recons a bonus to cyno time, so we can actually use a Recon ship to get an eniemy fleet behind the lines wthout anybody seeing it.
Oh ya, and fix the fraking bug first of all...

i am not yet a recon pilot, but isn't Role Bonus: 200-unit reduction in liquid ozone consumption for cynosural field generation and 50% reduction in cynosural field duration what you are asking for?

Yes, because everyone wants to take their very expensive cloaking ship out with a cyno instead of a cloak on it, find a nice spot, pop a cyno, and wait to be killed.

I agree, I was wondering the same thing last night.... hmmhh take an 80+ mil isk ship out to get p0wned or train cyno field theory to 4 or 5 and use an imicus.... Thanks for nothing CCP. Easiest fix is reduce the time so that with level 5 recon you can deploy a cyno for as little as 30 seconds or a minute, hell make the duration selectable, choose from a range from between the lowest time to 10 minutes for when you have more than one capital ship coming in.
