Is there going to be any addition of these extra 700k SP's for new characters, or is CCP going to expect everyone with who is new to EVE, or anyone of us with alts to reroll to get these extra points? I do not see any patch notes for any adjustments or respec's for existing characters - just new characters get 800-810K SP's

No, existing characters do not get an 800k SP boost. The only point in remaking would be if you'vve got under 800k sps, and its in a way you don't like. Personally I'd take 6-700k SPs in learning over the kali 800k.
CCP isn't likely to be expecting anything other than for new chars to start with more SPs, and they're probably expecting to see a metric ****load of R&D alts popup.

That's what it looks like, as far as I could tell.

Kinda crappy if you ask me.

You can choose to keep your character or make a new one.

Thats very obvious to anyone.
The question is if CCP is going to do anything so players don't have to reroll to pick up the extra SP's if they are under 800k now. Alts, but espeically new rookie players to the game.
Hi, welcome to EVE, they just came out with a patch and in order for you to get the full benefit log out and start over.

Edited by: Piccy Change on 25/11/2006 06:15:13 I find it ridiculous to hear people complain about the new character creation. It needed to happen eventually. EVE isn't the easiest MMO to start off in on the market and giving a slight advantage to the new guys coming to the game is a good idea. People only complain about it being a bad choice on account that it didn't happen when THEY joined the game. Please don't condemn a perfectly good feature on account of a bitter response.
Edit: Crap I posted on my Picture Exchange Character...

You likely won't be given anything free, aside from the FREE EXPANSION of course.
Seriously, would you expect something if you rolled with less than 500k SPs because you didn't pick the right skills at character creation now? (Which seems to be the case for most people). New bloodlines newbs with tech2 gun skills anyone? Anyway, the real "advantage" a post-Revelations newbie character will have is hardly 800k or even 700k but more like 300k. The choices are just more intuitive about giving people higher skill levels instead of a whole bunch of low level skills, which would therefore end up in a low total SP score. The actual potential amount isn't a whole lot higher than it was before (now) and nobody deserves a boost at all because of this. If you have so low SPs that this effects you in a big way, you could benefit from a reroll RIGHT NOW, not just after Revelations.

I'm starting over after Kali, but only because I was lucky enough to read about this upcoming change 4 days in my 7 days trial, just before I activated my full membership... So I'm not losing much. I'm actually learning the game again (used to be an EVE alpha test player a few years ago) because of all the changes that happened since I stopped playing (Since Exodus was released)... I'm learning a lot already.
I'm currently taking the time (until Kali's release) to read the whole blog of INNOMINATE NIGHTMARE - The Eve Online 0.0 Experiment. It's AMAZING! I'm only at the 31st of August in his blog and I've been reading for 3 hours already... I'm hooked, and I'm learning how to truely play EVE at the same time. You should take a look at it, it will teach you a lot.

It'll pass time...
