I have a strange high pitched noise comming from my computer whenever I am logged into Eve online. It only happens in eve online and is starting to annoy be rather much. The second i swap back to windows or another game ( dont matter if I close eve or not ) the noise is gone. The second i swap back, hello again to the noise.
I have already made some investigations and attemps but none have helped:
1: Turn off sound in eve 2: Mute sound in windows. 3: Turn off my speakers ( i use line out and an old stereo ) 4: Make the CPU load harder ( I have a dual core, so let the other core do some PI calculations for test )
Listening around for the sound reveals that the sound seems to originate from around the CPU on the motherboard.
Are there anyone who have some good suggestions as to what it may be?
Thanks in advance Huiron

I'd suspect one of the capacitors at the motherboard. No idea why it would happen only in EVE though - it should be repeatable with any application utilizing 100% CPU. --

There is a range of possibility's.
1. Your power supply could be going down the crapper (Causing fluctuations when under load to the voltage regulators, well thats my understanding of it)
2. The voltage regulators on the mobo are starting to fail or are slightly lose(Not sure on how to fix this one).
3. The capacitors on your mobo are dying (they can sometimes can go quite dramatically) Do any of the capacitors look like there bulging(compared to the rest near it) or possibly leaking? If so then i would suggest replacing your mobo.
1 and 3 means getting new hardware. For more information try searching Google for your problem. That way you might also get a better understanding of it. If you haven't all ready. |

Cheers, thanks mate.
Somehow, I did a system restore to the day before and it sorted all my worries :D
I recommend if anyone has this trouble, try that first - it's a helluvalot easier. - - - - -
