This could be fun but I also am in need of some sort of a schedule before signing up. |

Sign me up then. Also I take it there are no limitations when it comes to the ship fittings, implants and boosters? |

Well obviously I would have been talking about links instead of boosters if I meant those, duh. When it comes to warping off grid, is it simply a game of trust in case neither party will be able to fraps the fight? Not something I'm planning to do myself, just wondering about the what if -scenarios. |

I have this distinct memory of a thread from like three years ago or so which claimed that Holeysheet1 was mentally deficient/disturbed/something in real life. The thread involved some sort of a scam or griefing directed towards him and a friend of his defending him. Does this ring anyone else's bells? |

If theres gonna be a swap it would be optimal to do it now, since I've basically had a whole week being able to do nothing but computer games (pretty terrible tbh) and starting this sunday I will be going back to work and other real life meetings. Today and tomorrow I still have nothing planned so let me know if theres anyone who could fight. Everything but the very middle of the night goes fine for me. |

Leto Thule wrote:Ok, so I swapped out the brackets and fought Immortalist seeing as how Heknai and him were having TZ issues.
Congrats to his win!
Ill have the vid up as soon as I figure out how to do all the cool things Bronson does with his.
Brief description:
My first time flying an Oruthus. (Hey, thats why we are here, right?) I figured that I would have plenty of damage application with RLM's and packed a target painter with me in case I ran into a drone boat. Anyone who looks at the KM will see I packed auto-targeters in my cargo, just in case my opponent pulled a Leto and brought jams. My fit was setup for kiting, obviously, but I DID NOT NOTICE THE INCREDIBLY SHORT target locking range of 62KM before it was waaaaay too late. He had me using my shield charges before I could even get a lock.
Oh, and I made sure to pack a cargo hold full of drugs that I forgot to use.
I look forward to facing Ralph in the first round loser bracket!
One thing that later on made me feel stupid is that I didn't notice the absence of your hardeners, meaning I should've used those mjolnirs after all against the 0% resists. Oh well, such is life and I actually got a few sweet ship ideas for the upcoming matches from that one. |

Oh my god. Are you all space-poor? For real? No goddamn restrictions. Besides, the advantages of, say, fitting faction instead of T2 are marginal for almost all of the modules. Also I can't fly T2 bcs either but hey who cares, its still possible to create a fit to destroy one of them within the boundaries of the current rules out of the T1 bc hulls (no I'm not revealing it). |

Lodestone and I duked it out in Amarr tonight and even though the match wasn't a long, drawn out slugfest like some of the past matches has been, it was incredibly close, I would say so close as to be luck of the draw. The video is here. For those of you who are suspense-limited, the killmail is here.
Great match, must have been very fun! |

Good fight! Sorry for bringing a rather boring strategy, but I promise to make up for it in the BC fight
EDIT: Also yeah, Valkin shouldn't be disqualified for warping out since he fixed the issue and came back. All in all its a good reflex (spamming the warp button) to have in almost all of eve pvp. |

A very fun match between me and Tengu Grib is done. After many whooshes right beside his sniper fit Naga I finally managed to land a scram+web on him for good with my 500MN hull tanked navy brutix: http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=30187914
You should note Tengu used his alt character for the fight which was fine by me and not against the rules AFAIK.
I think there was a glitch with the fraps so I'm not sure if we have a clip of the fight unfortunately :/ |

Tengu Grib wrote: A second time his range dipped frighteningly quickly and this time he came within 25 km or so. Again I was able to push range back out to where I was comfortable. At this point I didn't like him getting that close to me and just burned straight away from him as he passed %80 structure or so.
Heh, I'm not sure if you noticed but at one time I went right past you from 13km away, and the time right after that one I actually managed to get an overheated web cycle on you. The only problem at that point was my ridiculous speed with which I wasn't able to stop in time and flew too far away again. I was maybe 62% hull when the match was over. Close calls throughout the whole fight. |

Bronson Hughes wrote: Immortalist, did you ever manage to get drones on him during one of your close passes? That was one of my big concerns in my Talos.
I felt a bit too overconfident at first so I didn't bother launching my drones at all. Once I realised my terrible agility was becoming a problem I put my set of ecm vespas on him. My max locking range was like 24-25 km so to answer your question: yes I could've put my dps drones on him as well. |

There is not very much to analyze on my part. This fight equaled range dictation. I spent a few hours on the eft trying to figure out the best possible fit out of rather many different battleship hulls and found this one to have very few weaknesses. On my part the strategy was to simply hold my range for as long as possible and when caught I would switch to a brawling mode (which I was prepared for as well). Unfortunately the fight never went all the way to that point.
I was prepared for some serious micro management with creating bookmarks around the grid when trying to kite but in the end didn't end up using those since Bronson's mobile micro jump units ended up working as nice beacons for warping around whenever necessary. |

A quick question: should I lose the first finals match and there will be another one, is the 2nd one going to be with frigate hulls as well? |

A short analysis of the fights: the 1st one was pretty much decided when we both undocked our ships. Once I zoomed in on Lodestone's hawk and saw the light missile launchers I realized the only thing I could do was try to catch him and get up close. Because of the tanking capabilities of the hawk, however, there really wasn't a chance of winning to begin with.
After the loss I was pretty much afraid of him bringing the hawk again and pondered if I should take another ship or alter my worm fit. In the end the only thing I changed was a sensor booster to a sensor dampener. My strategy + fit were completely focused on keeping my drones alive long enough for him to run out of cap boosters. Now that I think of it I still can't figure out a better ship for the task (barring another hawk with more tank than his but that would've been kinda gay).
Especially with the daredevil loss these fights ended up costing me quite a nice pile of isk. Ironic, considering my original strategy was to bring the worm to the first fight but I decided otherwise at the last minute because I wanted to try something different. |

Just received my prize from Serendipity. A nice bonus on top of everything.
Since Leto didn't get a lot of participants in the new attempt at a thunderdome event, he (Serendipity) also wished we come to some sort of an overall decision between the best player and the most entertaining match in the tournament. I suggest either Leto or Noragen try to make sense of what the people have voted so far and make those decisions. |
