I've recently decided to train both gallente and minmatar technology. Roleplay-wise, I like fighting for freedom and all that. But I haven't got much idea about game balance and I don't want to be gimped ^^. Do these two races combine well? Which are the things I'll find myself doing better?
Are minnnie+gallente faction ships nice?
What about t2 frigs? I mainly play the game for them, I love small ships. Are gallente and minmatar ones good?

The Minmatar Republic stands for not fighting slavery, not freeing slaves, not supporting the Matari tribes. The thing they do stand for is

the mach is a kickass ship, and with the right setup, **** near unbeatable.

Minmatar combines well with any race, but that's due to their ships using all the major systems (missiles, guns, drones, shield tanking, armor tanking and speed mods). Which means a lot of training. Originally by: Robert Ocean

Gallente are very good (Taranis, Ishkur), while Minmatar are a bit of speciality. Claw can fit 400mm plate w/o compromising guns (most durable inty, afaik), Stilleto has 4 mids (best tackler), Jaguar is fast for an AF with a strong tank.
Though Revelations might change things a lot.

Machariel is an Angel Cartel ship, probably linked to some Jove designs salvaged after the last war. It has got nothing to do with the Republic.
It is the BS of the MinGal ship line featuring projectiles.
There is another line of ships featuring GalMin with focus on hybrid weapons.

Well I've got 1,2m skillpoints in gallente already, so it's just about minmatarr ^^. I've tried some frigs and liked, but I'm not sure to go for big things yet.
