Yep I deleted mine, well over 5k of bookmarks on several characters each. I also got my ticket to Iceland, pitchfork, and torch on standby should they choose to remove warp to zero. ----

They can never remove warp to zero now. Instas were already a crutch that some couldn't cope without, now warp to zero is the same, just more tightly coupled to the game.

Sounds more sensible that way somehow.
From what I've seen so , the most upsetting (not for me ) reversal was the Tractor Beams Blueprint Unpatch, and people didn't bring any pitchforks to any Fanfests for that. --

For every person who sees a broken bit of gameplay, a particular ship or mechanic being overpowered, there's another 100 who are using it and abusing it and will cry if it's taken away.
It's even worse with something like warp to zero and instas, because there _are_ positive arguments to have them.
Goes something like this: Everyone got warp to zero, because some people have instas, this levels the playing field and reduces lag.
The other alternative would have been to 'remove' all the 'insta' bookmarks, and just leave it at that. This would lead to an evolution of gameplay, which I personally feel would be for the better. However it would have also lead to a lot of whinging and moaning about how EVE is so hard now.
The latter case I feel, wasn't implemented mostly due to the level of dependancy. This is now increased, because the hassle of copying/making the BMs to get 'easy mode' is now gone.
*shrug* maybe EVE was too hard. I guess we'll see how this one pans out.

I've already had issues with failing to catch people because of this warp to 0m bull. I object to it and I sincerely hope it gets removed. Tho I don't want instas to come back either.

Now there's an interesting idea. I really should listen more to customers, this looks like a good opportunity to take this idea and really do it, just ... do it.
You should see the old warp to 15 in the Tuesday patch, at the latest.

Edited by: Nev Clavain on 29/11/2006 13:28:45 Edited by: Nev Clavain on 29/11/2006 13:27:53 Well I'm gonna delete all the bookmarks i dont immediately need. However it would be nice if CCP would provide some clarification on what is actually happening. Warp to 0 is here obviously, however why would anyone delete their bookmarks without any guaruntee it is here to stay?
Furthermore CCP firmly gave the impression that BM deletion would be done automatically upon first login. This has not occurred for many including myself. Clarification on exactly how BM deletion will be carried out would also be very helpful i.e. is CCP just gonna indiscriminately cut everyone's people and places down to size if people don't do it themselves, thereby deleting safespots as well as gtg instas indiscriminately and leaving a set number of bms? Or does CCP have a method to distinguish between bookmarks that are close to celestial objects and is just going to remove those.
You can't expect everyone to happily burn their bridges when such a little amount of information is available. Therefore as a gesture of goodwill I am deleting all instas I have not used in recent times, but will retain all the most crucial ones to my day to day operations, until further confirmation that the warp to 0 is here to stay. More concrete information from CCP will definately help speed up this process.
edt: having just read what oveur just wrote i dont think I'm gonna delete anything at all. Maybe I'm missing some kind of joke here... still doenst exactly fill me with confidence

Discussing WTZ on vent last night, my comment was "If I was a CCP dev, I would so go and make a post stating our immediate intention to remove WTZ now that plenty of people have deleted their instas"
Interesting to see that you have the same sense of humor as I do ;)

I haven't tried too much of the warp to 0 just yet. Didn't make that many instas, either, though. Hurrygogogettherecrazyquickfast isn't really a high priority in my game play. WTZ certainly doesn't hurt, though. :)

Ok, i know BM's are really pointless now. But i would like to have deleted em myself and not come back to the game finding all my bm's gone. There were a lot off spafespots in there which now are gone. Granted it would have taken up soem time to load em, but that's only 1 time so I could have sorted em out. now i'm stripped naked also i had hidden complex bm's now gone to. I would like to have em back thank you very much.

Thats strange... my instas were NOT automatically deleted. I had to do it myself. And TQ arent supposed to touch normal bookmarks for safespots etc, those are still a crucial part of Eve pvp.

Well when there is a lack of information on the subject it certainly doesnt help. Sarcasm isnt something that comes off particularly well in text form, particularly when there are genuine questions that need answering.
But yeah Devs can do whatever the hell they like. They can turn us all into flying monkeys which banana cannon IIs and banana tracking disruptors, and then proceed to call everyone whining newbs in the forums if it amuses them. Its their own creation they are messing with. On a business level though, its generally advisable not to be sarcastic and uninformative to your customers who seemingly have genuine issues they wouldn't mind a little clarification on, or thats the theory.

Just get rid of the things and dont look back.

Right. I will give out a corp wide order this evening, but I guess my corpmates would do it without that as well.
