Regarding this whole CA piratical issue its just plain getting old for all of us. Here is my honest point of view as to what the real question is....
Ofcourse there are going to be some pirate corps in CA TS channels and even in each others space and quite likely if circumstances put each at the site of a combat they will likely fight as a team still. It only makes sense.
You can not expect people to just throw away old friendships and former team mates just because they decided to move to a new area or try some new angle of play. I know I wouldn't.
This ofcourse, leads us to the present problem with the CA. Its a simple trust issue. We know they talk with the pirates, trade with the pirate friends and, like Stavros in Curse yesterday, travel with pirate friends. But does that mean the rest of us trust that CA won't feed targting info to the pirates? Sell them upgraded weapons, ships or implants? Do we trust you not too use piratical friends as mercenaries to do dirty work your charters don't allow? Or perhaps to set up and get rid of obstacles in the path of expansionism?
Its time to stop babbling over this whole pirate, not-pirate, friends of pirates, support of pirate issues and make the choice for yourselves. The CA has the ability to burn their candles at both ends of this ethics issue thats certain. Do you trust them not to do it?
So do you trust them not too? That is the question. If you don't then for safety sake you best consider them all pirates. If you do then they aren't pirates to you.
Human nature seldom varies.
My opinion, me, not BOP or CC, is that right now they aren't direct pirates. There is probably a few shady deals going for sure. But for the most part no hard core blatant pirating. But, at the moment times are ok for the CA...human nature...when times get harder and things get tougher I would fully expect them to do what ever it takes to succeed and that won't bar pirating or using their pirate contacts to the fullest. Whatever it takes is what I expect SINC/RC/VOTF and Shinra to do. So far as I can tell they are driving the bus.
Its just the nature of things. Call them pirates now or call them pirates later. Whats the difference?
