I want FD-MLJ like systems on Tranquility.
Though I should of spent more time testing I'll admit that I played in FD more than I should. I did join any gang calls from the Devs at least.
Why:
It's fun and it could become a isk sink depending on how it's done.
How they could make it work on Tranquility:
- Only pods can jump into or out of the system. This will keep items from entering or leaving the system.
- The system should be in its own region to keep its market from showing up on the market browsers.
- The market should be seeded the same as Sisi with 100 isk items except for smartbombs; see next point for reason why. The cost could be tweaked to make it a viable isk sink but everything should remain extremely cheap.
- Pods are untargetable to prevent podding and since there's no smartbombs pods will be safe.
- There should be muliple stations with insta-kill guards/sentries that attack anything that causes aggression to keep lamers from ruining it for others by denying access. I'd like to see GM enforcement but I'd want to try to keep that to a minimum if possible.
- The stations will not have insurance services and the default insurance will not be paid out on ship destruction in the system, so no fraud.
- Warp points are added to the system the same as Sisi.
- I don't know if it's possible but sentry/guards could be in each warp in point to enforce the rules. Say a warp in point is for everything except capitals. The guards would only insta-kill capital ships to keep someone from bring one to that area.
That's all I got right now.

So basically you just want an 'arena' system...
That could be a lot of fun. Could make for some really interesting events. Have it a CONCORD or some independant NPC corp controlled and regulated system. Set up regular tournaments and other special events.
Good idea, in my opinion.

Why not use the test server as that? I would like to join the fun but not travel 40 jumps to get there.
Also why remove smartbombs, you can simply modify pods so that smartbombs "push" them away with their blast, but since the damage isn't directed to the pod, it doesn't do any damage or only very little. Smartbombs would still damage drones though because drones are bigger and won't be pushed by the smartbomb blast.

I'd support a stand-alone EvE server that could be run on a home computer, with one solar system, a couple stations and planets, and maybe a moon or three. Don't waste energy on bookmarks, rats, asteroids or complexes, but let players log on via IP and duke it out with customizable skills and any gear they want.
You could even limit it to four million total SP or less and use it as a "demo" of EvE PvP. -------------- Civis Ascendant Sum |

"this isn't WoW"
Your point? Course it isn't WoW, but just because WoW does something similar doesn't make it a bad thing. PvP is where it's at but sometimes it's a pain in the butt to get it and even then it's usually a all out gank instead of a decent fight. Those are far and few between unfortunately. Though this idea could end up being the same with some organization it could work out pretty good.
It also provides a easy way for a casual gamer to get some PvP without worrying about going broke or having to go 20+ jumps, with the time associated with it, away from home to find some action.
"Why not use the test server"
The test server is meant for testing not for the enjoyment of the player base. Add to the fact that the test server simply can't support a large number of players. The 1000+ on it during the downtime was pretty unbareable no matter where you were. 300-400 people seems to be the sweet spot for what the server can support.
"I don't need a isk sink. I need isk."
As proposed the isk sink would be minor. Your talking maybe 5,000 isk to outfit a ship completely for 1 fight. The game does need some additional isk sinks to starve off inflation. Right now the game is doing alright, the T2 market's inflation is due to supply and demand not the devaluation of isk. But isk generation far out succeeds isk loss so eventually it will happen. The sky rocketing of GTCs is one example of this happening right now.
I would much rather see a voluntary isk sink such as this then if CCP implimented something on thier own that isn't voluntary or if they decide to do nothing and let the trend continue.
