Because i seriously dont like this new contract system, i'd rather just put my goods on the market but there is no market tab for them.

There are aspects of the contract system that I like, but I realy dont see why faction items couldnt be sold on the market.
Just make a market group for them, and away we go.
And some items cant be added to contracts, either; Elite Drone AI's for example (there may be more, but I havnt found them yet).

yes and being able to specifiy what u want in return is also good might reduce ISK inflation and pull back asset inflation as well

The new contract system certainly has it's merits and there are things I really like about it, but it's simply not the best solution to sell some items. The ability to sell COSMOS loot items on the regular market was removed with Revelations, which really bummed me out as I had been making some good money selling the spurs that drop off the rats in the COSMOS plexes. Selling them through the Contracts system instead now makes things much more difficult for me and my buyers. I could accumulate several hundred of these after a few days running these plexes, and before I would just throw them all up on the market in one order and forget about it for three months as people came through and bought off however many they needed. Now that I'm required to use the Contracts system instead, everybody loses. I have to babysit my orders every week and break them into smaller chunks rather than selling them in one large three month bulk market order, and my buyers are forced to buy them in whatever number I've packaged them in instead of the number they actually need, meaning they'll end up with either too many or too few. I guess I just don't exactly understand what does or does not qualify an item to be sold on the regular market. IMO you should be able to sell whatever you want using either the regular market or the Contracts system, and I don't understand the reason for this change.

There's a problem with putting them on the market? I have an domination kinetic deflection amp up for 10 mil right now, down in moldy heath I think.
I wasn't aware that it was a problem to put faction on the market, I just thought people preferred to escrow them for some goofy reason.
Wishing for better mining ships in a system near you. |

Faction mods can be put on market, but the only way you can view the market order info on them (such as to buy one) is to have one of them already and right click it and "view market details"

Edited by: Kai''lya on 01/12/2006 02:22:22 I can't speak for your faction mods, but since Revelations there is no longer any options to sell or view market details on COSMOS related loot items as there had been previously.

Yes, stop selling faction mods because they're too much of a hassle to sell.
Adapt or die was tired years ago, that you're still unable to realise that changes to the game can annoy people...

the person that designed the neat layout for the new contract listings just didn't understand how people want to use the listings...
for one thing, the alphabetical sorting was very important, and its gone...
second, each escrow contract having one line with the descriptions easily sorted and visually quickly scanned worked very well, inspite of the size of the list.
the new system isn't so much the problem, but the layout just isn't up to the job to allow us to do what we need to do quickly.
would also be nice if I could select a group of regions instead of just a single one at a time...
In essence, selling faction gear has now become expensive with fees, buying it has become cumbersome and slow...
I think with a few simple fixes, you can easily combine the advantages of the old system with those of the new system... ... _____________________________________ I'm Paper; Rock's fine, nerf Scissors |

buying faction gear however, or bpc's has become SO much more easy. Just do a search on it, and specify the region (how far do you want to fly to get it) Only thing that would improve on it is if it were possible to have a slightly more fuzzy search, to search for all gisti shield mods or something like that. I lubs them contract thingamybobs!

Yes adapt. But this doesn't mean that you should stop to try to change things you don't like.
Adapt and fight!
edit: if for you 'adapt'=='shut up' then you are prime meat for any dictatorship, at work, school, in life in general.

Yes I think they should just make it possible to put everything on the market. Contracts are nice for those who want a quick sale/auction and other stuff like that..
I don't see the point in having 2 markets. I though that Kali was going to fix this.
I don;t care to much about faction stuff but what about stuff like Drone AI... things like that really need to be ableable on the market since they are needed for Agent offers.

Quoted for total lack of sense / truth... even if i think really hard, i cannot post something that makes less sense...
As for the topic: trading got changed in a fundamental way, ultimately making the lives of almost everyone a lot more miserable. Shopping for faction items has become a nightmare, selling faction items has become a nightmare.
Of course, asking people who never had anything worth selling about their opinions on a trading system wont really get good results.
People have been asking for adding search entries for all the items that were on market, but could not be searched. Instead, they made it impossible to list those items at all. Whats so different about a True sansha Cap recharger that it cannot be put on market? Technical difficulties? Get better coders ... Design decision? Get new designers. As soon as possible.
This change alone makes me very pessimistic about the competence of the designers behind the contract system ...

learn how to use the search feature for crying out loud...
i admit its rather frustrating browsing through that long list of regions... took me a while to find "The Forge" when i was looking for "Forge" (duh me)
multi region search option would be nice. . |

Can you tell me what t2 BPOs are currently for sale? (we exclude morons who put their BPOs on auction in a non-hub region, those people rarely have t2 BPOS anyway).
Where is the cheapest gist b-type kinetic hardener being sold (in empire)? Lets say i need a full set of all 4 hardeners, and have enough alts to afk-autopilot in safe space, so distance is no issue, but every single ISK counts. Which ones will i buy?
How many officer shield tank items are for sale in Forge region (counting those that are worse then faction / deadspace)?
Bonus question: Did contracts made the answers easier to find?
