What if ship insurance was made to also cover armor and hull repairs depending on insurance level, for example platinum insurance would save 90-100% in repair costs. I Think it would be very beneficial for passive armor/hull tanks, a lot of people will just fit a rep and do their own repairs, but that takes time, and this would be a quality of life improvement. Imagine if docking up didn't replenish cap and shields instantly, for free. One can argue the repair costs are tiny for people who can afford to fly and get shot at regularly, but they do add up, especially for the larger hulls. If insurance covered a percentage of the repair costs of insured ships, I could see more usage of insurance, even for faction, T2 and T3 hulls for the repair cost savings. This wouldn't affect the repair cost of heat damaged mods. This has no impact on people who live at outposts, but the idea is for more incentive to insure ships. |

The whole idea of insurance for Eve space ships is silly and needs to go away. Also, any decent 0.0 station already has repair costs set to zero.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. So, why do I post here?

and even in non-sovenull/low/highsec repair costs are marginal, and easy to avoid by fitting some armor and hull reps... if you're that broke... |

I wouldn't mind making such a change as long as some other ISK sink were added to balance it. What we really need as far as ISK sinks is something that gives people to spend any amount of ISK they choose to spend on it, not like all of the existing ISK sinks where there's a point where there's nothing to spend anymore and it's easily reached.
We should be able to buy some faction ships for ISK. That would not only set a ceiling on their market price, it would also cause ISK to drain out of the economy until it balanced to the point of making the faction ships you buy with ISK similar in price to the faction ships you have to buy with LP or tags. That would prevent inflation beyond a certain point.
Then we can stop worrying about insurance being so much of an ISK faucet and just fix it into something useful and fun to use.
Pirate ship Nightmare, can you fathom
Larger but with smaller spikes than Phantasm
The Succubus looks meaner
But the Revenant cleaner
Seems as they get bigger, the smaller spikes they has'm

"Quality of life improvement" is the gift wrapper for "make the game easier" or "I can't be bothered". But maybe it's just me getting older...
Reminds me of that youngster they put into one of my projects who can't be bothered after 5 months in project to remember a 5 letter account name with a 4 letter password and complains about it not being documented somewhere.
Tldr: No.
Edit: Almost forgot...
vvvvv
Remove insurance.

Your second point is laughable.
EvE is hard. It's harder if you're stupid.
I couldn't have said it better.
Will troll for a t-shirt.

There are modules which repair your damage for 0 ISK. If your lazy just pay the price.

I always though it was a base cost and station owner could set a tax over this. |

I have never paid a repair fee in any friendly 0.0 station.
