Hi all, We are planning a mass test on Singularity on Thursday, July 16th @ 17:00 EVE time.
What exactly is being tested?
We have just revamped a significant number of stretch effects used by utility modules as well as introduced a new audio backend for Turret audio.
How to connect to Singularity for this test:
Read the Instructions at http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Singularity and read general instructions about mass tests at http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Mass_testing.
Join the in-game channel "MassTesting"
Test steps:
- Jump to X-BV98
- Align to POS beacon
- Warp to POS beacon
- Shoot the control tower
- Use ewar/remote mods
- Align to Poitot gate
- Fleet 1: Jump to Poitot and setup gate camp
- Fleet 2: Jump to Poitot + fight at the gate
- Doomsdays
What else should I know?
We will be moving players to the test system - join the channel massmoveme 2M Skill points will be awarded on Singularity for this mass test Bring many different ships and ideally titans if you can. Fit a selection of utility modules, anything from the following categories: Cargo Scanners, Neuts, Nos, Cap Transfers, Salvagers, Tractor Beams, Remote Armor/Shield Reps, ECM, Remote Sensor Boosters, Ship Scanners, Survey Scanners, Target Painters, Remote Tracking Computers, Warp Scramblers Cynos will be provided

From the numbers I've seen there are only a couple of effects from our revamped set that have an increase in milliseconds/frame and those are quite minute, so you shouldn't be able to discern any performance degradation from these effects.
I know that aspects of Doomsdays have always been a performance hit (see Gjallarhorn/Oblivion impacts) but we're making every effort to improve on those.

Will you release gifs of the new stretch effect or something of the sort?
I was actually thinking of making a comparison chart showing old and new as I was walking in to work this morning!

Hi folks, to give you an update on things:
Yesterday's disastrophe will have no impact on today's mass test.
The test will run for roughly 40-60mins (historically closer to 40).
I wouldn't say that the new effects are as drastically different as the new explosions we showed at fanfest (and I cannot provide a timescale for when you'll see those particular effects).
Hope to see you there!

Larg Kellein wrote:Is this severe graphical bug what's caused this bit of weirdness: When I log in to Sisi, the middle bits of the screen that should have, you know, space has the background image from character selection stuck there instead.
This is with a fresh sisi install after copying my TQ setuo, which works as normal.
That's the one. Fix should be in soon.
