I figured out decades ago when posting on message boards, you are as a guest in someones home, "freedom" doesn't apply. I'd die for real freedom, but not to ransack someone else's home. And having done admin and mod work in the past (disclaimer edit: not here), I've always felt that is the best way to explain it. CCP has imo been very good hosts towards our crazy outbursts, far more considerate than most.
