[1] Evolution Notification of Intention With immediate effect, the following points now apply. o) Evolution hereby withdraw ourselves from the FA membership and consider our membership terminated. o) All military, business, protection and other such relationships with the FA are deemed terminated. o) Evolution now considers all corporations within the FA as neutral parties. To pre-empt those asking "Why?". Because we want to and that is the only reason needed. The emperor, who was a devout Buddhist, invited a great Zen master to the Palace in order to ask him questions about Buddhism. "What is the highest truth of the holy Buddhist doctrine?" the emperor inquired. "Vast emptiness... and not a trace of holiness," the master replied. "If there is no holiness," the emperor said, "then who or what are you?" "I do not know," the master replied. In what seems like ages ago, a roving band of warriors came into Fountain driven by a need for rare minerals. They did not come in unopposed, Fountain rallied the largest fleet ever heard of at the time to oppose the invading forces. However, the battle was not joined: Fountain had been measured, and it passed. The opposing forces met and an agreement was outlined. What could possibly have been the biggest battle in Eve turned into the newest alliance in the outer regions: FA. This did not come without a price. Evolution, a band that had been accustomed to always acting alone, had to sacrifice independence and commit itself into assisting in defending the alliance from the looming pirate threats. We made Fountain's battles our own, their foes became our foes, their aspirations our aspirations. It was a transformation we had to make. One must adapt to the currents of the changing winds. Now we look back and see all that we have achieved so far and we are pleased. The Alliance has grown, the members have prospered. Fountain has defended itself from its foes and chased them across Eve as they fled. All threats have withered away such that the alliance is now occupied with external events. We have come to a point where we have realized that we are no longer needed in Fountain. It is time for us to reclaim the independence that we sacrificed. Henceforth, Evolution is no longer part of the Fountain Alliance. We leave without outstanding debts or responsibilities. We thank the Alliance for allowing us to meet and work with kindred spirits: individuals who have since joined our band. We are, at heart, wanderers, ones that can never be at peace for long by staying in one place. We return to what we were before the fateful encounter that gave birth to the Fountain Alliance. This is a transformation we choose to make. We adapt to the currents of the changing winds. Let it be known that any and all who enter where Evolution dwells dance with Death. Let it be known that the only boundaries Evolution recognizes are our own. Evolution has begun. |

Sure they are a very powerful corporation who used to be our allies, but now they have made it clear that they have broken all of their old ties and will be setting their own agenda, they have further stated that anyone who interferes with that agenda will be destroyed. I respect their decision, and I respect the corporations and its members. Sentry guns, power/shield generators, field repair mini-stations, mobile refineries. We are still working out the last tidbits of how they can be over taken, what is the penalty of having a sentry gun kill a n00b etc. and we have been a bit busy with plugging the holes that people have found.I would say that you'd start to see these items on the market in about 2-3 weeks, very expensive to begin with |

All their life, the little family had wished for nothing but to be on their own, be strong without the help of others. One day, the oldest sister came upon a small puppy in the forest while she was picking mushrooms. From the very moment she laid his eyes upon the little mutt, she knew she wanted to keep him. But at that time, she also knew it was impossible. For this little puppy ran with the wolves at night. And every night the boy would go out and hunt the wolves, as the wolves hunted the other animals in the forest. So the little girl simply smiled at the little puppy, and went home. Years passed, and the boy grew into a stout man and the sisters came to be the fairest maidens anyone had ever laid their eyes on. The wolves were long gone, their pack scattered. Then, the little puppy came upon the door of their cottage. But he was no longer a little puppy, but a large dog, with a flea-bitten and mangy coat and a chewed ear. The oldest sister, who remembered the little puppy from before, recognized him. "Please, my fair maiden. I beg of you. For long have I run astray, alone in the forest and no-one to lean on to. The other packs never did compare, and I couldn't stand staying with them. Can I please be a part of your little family?" the dog implored The oldest sister looked at him thoughtfully. But she did not see the ragged exterior. No, she saw inside the little, cute puppy she had seen before, and she took pity upon him. She brought him before the others, and asked them to be able to keep him. The boy looked stern in the face of his sister asking to harbour a wolfdog, but her pleas softened his heart. In the fullness of time, the dog became a member of the family. But while the dog savoured every moment he spent with them, in his heart beat the lust for freedom and independence. In his very soul, he knew that this could not last. So the dog left, but the boy did not grieve his departure like his sisters, and closed the doors forever. The dog became a wolf, a free spirit. I ask again, is there a point? Surely, if you were claiming space you would make your borders known and issue a formal warning rather then this "dance with death" mumbo-jumbo. I have to say, anything less seems like a flimsy excuse to shoot at people. If I am incorrect, and you are in fact just claiming space, please let me know.
