Quote: I was attempting to play again last nite, and was watching my computer during these periods of "uber lagÖ" and noticed that the hard drive goes AWOL then it stops and the game continues to function.
When the HD stops working, Eve's throwing a bunch of exception windows up--turn on "show exception windows" and you'll see them. Should be an easy bug to fix--let's hope we get a patch soon.

Load lag upon session change (station exit/ warping/jumping and even changing from trade window to mission window) has been around always. It's not new to me at all.
I allways lag at least 30 seconds upon jumping, when exiting warp and when leaving station. Nothing buggy about it imho, I just lack the minimum req. ram spec.
Maybe the players that experiende it for the first time should check their line traffic when it occurs. It sounds like load lag to me.

Btw, upon reading all of this thread the feeling forces itself on me that these 'bugs'haunt all of us, not just the ones that Dl'ed the patch.
I too get the freeze-up of the client regularly when i move mods between hangars. I also lag like hell lately (even more then before). My HD also spins like hell all the time.
I never installed the damn patch !
Maybe a reinstall with rollback will not help you. Let us know ok ?

I did a reinstall read above and it fixed it, I HAVE not ever suffered any lag problems like above before or since resintalling...
As for minimum specs I think I've more than crossed into the safe zone.
Athlon 2200 XP+ 1 Gig Ram 128mb GeForce4 Ti4600
... and just to clarify again...
- Pre-patch = no lag
- Patched = uber lagÖ
- Resintalled to Pre-patch = no lag
Although I am missing the camera tool a bit I'd rather be able to play than watch the rats shooting back at me

Well, having talked to a few people about this, I now know that multiple bug reports with full logs have been submitted, so hopefully we'll see a fix for this issue soon.
I turned the logserver on myself tonight just to check it out ... the errors its picking up look glaringly obvious to me, so it should be something they can readily fix.
I hope.
