I know at least a few other people are having this problem. Since updating to 1246, every time I dock or launch or jump--any "session change" in other words--I'm getting massive "lag" (yes, I know it's not really lag).
The screen freezes for sometimes as long as thirty seconds, but never less than about ten seconds, and this is with every single session change, including logging in.
Obviously, this is pretty difficult to deal with.
A full reinstall didn't touch the problem.
I encourage anyone else who's experiencing this to post to this thread so we might attract some attention (I've already filed a bug report, but I figure this can't hurt), and if anyone has found a fix for this, please let those of us still afflicted know what the trick is.
Other than that, great patch--enjoying the market changes especially.

Turned on "show exception windows" and I'm throwing about eight or nine exceptions per session change.
Here's hoping for a fix on Monday.

I don't CTD, but I do get a longer delay before loading the new system. I want to test this with someone in a JIP. I am beginning to wonder if they did somethin that makes your ship not load untill your loaded. Spelling corrections welcome, but don't expect me to edit my post. |

Tested it with a corp mate, you don't appear in the new system until your system "catches up," but this isn't a feature--it's definitely a bug.
My corp mate's seeing normal jumping/docking times, but I'm seeing 20-30 seconds of lag.
The thing that bothers me most is that half of that is before the jump or dock. As soon as I'm in jump range, my screen will freeze for between five and ten seconds, and then I'll get the "jumping" message and animation. Then I get a static shot of the gate--screen freeze, as I'm unable to mouselook around again--and then the next system will load.
My corp mates see me on the gate side, but have to wait for that "lag" to clear before they see me on the jump-in side.
This is making zero-sec travel pretty interesting, and I'm looking for a patch that will allow me to roll back to the previous version, because despite the bug fixes and the cool enhancements, this is almost unplayable this way.

I am seeing the same thing. Coming out of warp seems to take a while where all you can do is sit and watch the gate, station, or roids, but not do anything.

I thank you all for beta testing this new patch. You help all the other players a lot, because ccp has time to fix the worst bugs, before releasing an OFFICIAL patch.
If you were not aware of the fact that it's a beta patch, hard luck. |

You all seem to be having some problems since that patch is NOT OFFICIAL!!!! Don;t you peope ever get a bloody clue from all the hapless fools before you?? You DONT ever DL and install a patch before CCP makes it official.

Gemini hot fix patch 1246 is ready and fully tested. Currently we are not requiring it to play, so you can chose whether you use 1238 or 1246 to play on Tranquillity.
If you have 1238 installed and want to upgrade, just press this link and execute.
We have also patches available for all previous versions and a full installation.

As the previous poster said, it is an offical patch, if it was unofficail who wrote it? and why does it fix some of the nice bugs???
The only problem I've had is the 100% cap display when I'm out of cap, but that fixed after I jumped to a different system...
The new features of the patch make it worth the download for me. Only problem is the Look At and Lock options are too close to each other now....

My problems are not at all bad to where I would uninstall the patch. It has many fixes and I will deal with a little lag anyday for them,. Spelling corrections welcome, but don't expect me to edit my post. |

A fellow corp member had the same problem yesterday and the day before (ever since he got the patch). He tried dumping his cache even reinstalled Eve without the new unofficial patch and still everything took forever to load. Lastnight he decided to reinstall windows and luckily it resolved his issue and now loads everything in 3 seconds he says. So if it plagues you, reinstall windows as a last option, it helped our corp mate.
I have the new patch and things are working just dandy, but if it does cr@p out on me my new puter is being shipped tomorrow, wheee 8)

So far I didn¦t have any problems like these. In fact the loading and all goes a little bit faster than before most of the times. I also haven¦t heard of anyone in my corp having these problems.

Lately I have been playing 2 players at once on 2 different computers. One of the machines is a minimum-EVE-spec box, barely able to run the game. After about an hour of travel on the minimum spec machine I have to re-boot, or the "lag" for session changes becomes unbareable. Now I know how guys get podded at JIP's...I've seen it take 30 seconds for that minimum spec machine to "catch up" after a jump into a sector!!!

Not strictly related to the above bug, but I saw an interesting one today: shield display bug, much like the cap display bug people are experiencing. I had no shields, and was taking hits to my armor, but there it was: a full outermost blue indicator.
Still having the session change bug, too, of course.

You know, Microsoft is the only OS producer I can think of who actually recommends a complete machine rebuild as a solution to an application problem.

No way in hell I'm doing a complete reinstall to clear up lag. I'll wait for the fix--hopefully it won't be long.

I too am having lag problems and a few CTD's since installing the new patch. The new features and other fixes are too cool for me to be bothered with going back though.
Any of us who installed it aren't complaining though. After all, it was optional. We're just pointing out that there are a few issues with it.

Still having the lag issues, of course, but I've uncovered another nasty bug.
When transfering items from cargo containers to a ship's cargo hold or vice versa, sometimes the client locks up entirely, forcing a restart (client, not computer).
Hasn't been a problem for me so far, but I'd hate to be looting a can in a hot belt and have this happen. Corp mates confirm that I'm still sitting there in space until I restart the client (I waited ten minutes once just to test it).
So that's two pretty dangerous bugs. I'm seriously considering another reinstall with a rollback.

Shoot, I had that happen to me last night. I thought it was just because I screwed up a copy and was running the same Eve source program twice (two clients at once from the same Eve folder). It didn't happen after I re-copied tho and was running two different Eve programs/clients at the same time.
I haven't really had any other problems since I reformatted and reinstalled XP.

I was attempting to play again last nite, and was watching my computer during these periods of "uber lagÖ" and noticed that the hard drive goes AWOL then it stops and the game continues to function.
At the moment its just totally unplayable, I feel a re-install to pre-patch status is in order.
