New Contract System is Broken

Megadon Caldari Deathshead Inc.	Posted - 2006.11.30 18:15:00 - [1] The new and 'improved' contract system is broken. You cannot sort items in any way. Information is not divided into any type of sortable column. You can only see one region at a time. You can only see 25 items. The problem with this, is that if one person in particular has mulitiple items in a region, guess what, you are going to see the majority of available contracts taken up by this one person. Other items get pushed out. Information displayed takes up way too much space. Before we had tons of information that took up one row of display space. Now we have less information taking up three rows of space. I really cannot believe CCP actually implemented something this shoddy. I've been playing this game a while and have seen nerfs come and go, seen patch implementations go well and go bad, but CCP promoting this new contract system to the Eve community here as something of an improvement over the old system surprises me. CCP is the current system only the first iteration of something that will get better? or is this the way you actually see it being used? There actually used to be a healthy escrow market for items that you CANNOT sell on the regular market. Now because of this new sytem, it is all but gone. Either fix the current contracts system to actually make it useful, OR enable ALL items in the game to be sold on the regular market. As it is now, it is broken.

They're going to have more items displayed at once. xenorx 0utbreak	Posted - 2006.11.30 18:30:00 - [5] Sadly, I have to agree with the OP 100%. I opened up "contracts" to see this new fantastic feature that we have been waiting for. After mucking about with it for 5 minutes I closed it. What a totally useless system/feature. Bring back the old escrow system until they can make a usable "contract" system. No one can hear you scream in space, so just shut up and die already.

Tried, never could get on I'm not even really a trader. I just buy faction stuff on the escrow for my ships because many are better than tech 2 and you can't buy them on the market. If you could buy the stuff on the market, I would probably not even use the escrow system.

Ngwee Gallente 7 SAI	Posted - 2006.11.30 22:06:00 - [10] maybe because none of us "traders" felt that the famous singularity offered anything other than a testbed for the PvP people. In the hundreds of threads Ive read about singularity - I cannot recall even one ( and someone will probably link the one Ive missed ) that discusses changes on anything other than ships and modules. Any change in the game that penalizes an activity by a factor of 5 or more to me is broken. What used to take me 5 minutes to run through in escrow has just taken me half an hour to plow through in contracts. Not amusing in the slightest.

Go back to advanced school for basic dumb. Oooooh lets search for Sansha items - type type type - enter - read - read - next page - next page. Hmm what about Serpentis? Type Type - enter - read - read - next page etc. Point being that every single type has to searched for seperately now - in case you missed that part of contracts.

Im wanting to get the point across that a part of EVE game play that gave me a lot of fun and satisfaction is no longer in game. I really enjoyed the opportunity that escrow gave you to view a thousand sales at once - to sort them by type and your wallet and see what modules where out there and what would be next on your shopping list. Also it was unrivalled in helping you gauge a price for that module that youve just got and in stopping you overpaying for something. This took me all of 5 minutes before and now its become a chore - you have to work at it and thats really taken the enjoyment out of looking for something. Dear ! I personally dont care how bored the devs get of reading about this - It affects how I play and the proposed bandaids do nothing to repair the damage thats been done.

It reinforces the hub concept, and the 4 regions with jita, amarr, oursulaert, and rens in them will be the only regions with any auctions up. How about showing them by NPC sovereignty? That would fit in with the new faction system. Help de-hubbify the universe!
