Edited by: Ly''sol on 01/12/2006 05:13:12 Tuxten made a good living for a apprentice underwriter for Lai Dai. He welcomed the challenges of his work and the rewards that came with it. However little did he know that while crossing the same promenade of the refinery station he had crossed so many times. Was his life about to change forever.
No one ever notices differences in the environment where thousands of people cross every day, Fedo consuming garbage in the corner, and a group of workers on break admiring the harbor as the Mining vessels would dock. Nothing different is what made it the perfect place to hide. Except when one underwriter walked straight into the jaws of a tiger stalking its kill.
ôSumi masenö, Tuxten said in Caldari as he accidentally stumbled on a case resting near its owner.
ôHow many times have you apologized for simply thingsö the tiger said to him as he stopped Tuxten by his arm.
Tuxten was startled by the invasion of his personal space and gasped ôPardon me?ö
The tiger smiled bearing its teeth looking up above them, ôThey sit there.ö He looked at the underwriter square revealing its eyes of fire, ôSmug, in their towers and vessels. Carelessly they toy with the lives of millions. They are sheep.ö
He wasnÆt sure how to respond but squeaked out nervously ôWhoö
The Tiger sneered viciously at him, ôOpen your eyes brother! The Elite, The so called famous ones, the people who would be our gods, their mere thoughts could build wonders and lay waste to cities.ö
Tuxten looked up at the VIP suites that stood perched above them where the high ranking officals and government agents resided. And also was home to the capsule pilots, the special ones, the privileged. ôYou mean the eggers? They keep to themselves.ö ôThose false prophets hold beings as you and me with as much interests as a tank to an insect.ö The Tiger snarled, ôThey breathe the dust of stars and look into brilliant light of stars so bright itÆs blinding, they areàcorruptedö
Tuxten tried to pull away as talk about the capsule pilots was dangerous talk. He remembered rumors of people disappearing talking ill of the eggers.
ôTheir Ivory towers of lies they stand looking down at us with contempt and now its time for this ant to shoot the beast in its eye.ö The Tiger kneeled to open his case revealing a high powered rocket launcher with the glow Tuxford only recognized from the ammunition charges of the security vessels.
ôHey, what are you doing?ö he asked in a panic as the tiger seemed almost invisible to the crowd around him.
ôOpening your eyes brother!ö The Tiger declared as a launcher roared to life sending the warhead skyward to the spire of the Capsule Pilots, ôThus Garreth say the star of God descend upon the house of his enemy,ö The Amarr recited, ôSo did the light of God reclaim the men who shunned his word!ö
Tuxford looked up to see the glint of the rocket before it detonated which was followed by the shockwave of the blast several seconds later, ôWHAT HAVE YOU DONE!ö
He was gone. Only to be replaced by a horde of security drones descending on him which where alerted when the weapon came out of the case.
ôSurrender yourself to custody Citizen Tuxford Ha***n, you are charged with Illegal Firearms, Endangerment of the public, Destruction of Lai Dai property, and the attempted murder of fifty-seven international capsule pilots.ö
ôIt wasnÆt me, there was this Amarr whoà.ö He was interrupted by a drone displaying the holo-recording depicting him pulling the launcher out and fireing.ö ôThatÆs, impossibleàö He looked around as the drones sprayed him into submission with stick foam with the crowd of the promenade looking at the destruction and him in horror.
ôCitizen you will be subjugated to the uniform code of justice, you have the right to remain silent, you will submit.ö A fifth drone said as the Lai Dai Protection Officers closed in on him.
