Right, I'll keep this short so everyone can read it in their attentionspan (first half stopped reading here). What is up with all the whining since the patch? As long as I play them game, I'm pretty satisfied with Kali. Yes, there have been a lot of changes, and yes, the game isn't exactly like before. I'd even go as far as saying that some playstyles are now no longer viable. But on the other hand, the patch is here for nearly 3 days. The devs are working on it, and sometimes bufs / nerfs don't work out exactly like they planned.
So my question is, why does everyone (on the forums, since in the game I hear nearly no whining) complain this much? Does it make you feel better? Do you think that CCP otherwise ignores the balance? Or do you actually think that ANY devs looks at the forum and says: "Wow! This guy here doesn't like the warp to 0 option... I'd better undo it right away!"
I mean, I like the constuctive posts, but please, for the love of god, stop posting all that negative crap.
Thank you, I feel much better now

Ah, its always like this. As long as the issues are discussed without any of the 'omgwtf' and as long as folk bring realistic suggestions to back up their grievances, I don't see a problem.
Stuff like this is just worthless though.

Totally agree, see it everywhere... whine about this, whine about that. I see a lot of stuff in Revelations that looks good but because it's not an instant 'I win' people just whine.
If people spent as much time as they did complaining as actually figuring out stuff it might make the forums worth reading again.
But oh well... much easier to whine.

I will stop whining once CCP Fix the bloody game , Cant play the darn thing since the patch , continually CTD's when approaching gates or jumping . Don't think its too much to ask to be able to play the game you pay for !!
And Before you go Whine , i have tried ALL the suggestions listed in the known issues forum .

Sucks =/ If its stopping you from playing the game, you've every reason to be upset by it. I'm sure they have this at very high priority for a fix. Fingers crossed.

People like whining. Especially if others join in, gives them a cozy 'us against them' group feeling.
Note: These people live in their parents basements, never get laid and are good at eating twinkies.

i cant remember it ever being as bad as this tbh.
a lot of people whine about changes they should have known about before the patch. a lot of people are whining about issues that need time to stabilise.
nerf whining i say

To short testing period. Hence the patch is filled with bugs and needs to be tweaked on nerfs etc.
I don't mind testing on testserver, but testing on TQ is not my favourite.
I see a few major problems:
- zoom out, do we wanna see the map or just zoom out a bit? - wrecks, loot?? It's a pain atm - contract system, 16 contract max for a player, is that a joke? Ask ur local cardealer if he would be happy to reduce his shop to 16 cars, sell one get a new one to sell. - Lag, jumpqueue's, U are nr 612 inline to jump in jita, U are nr 162 inline to login jita. Of course Jita, cause where else can u make contracts now there is a region nerf. - Changes without patchnotes. example: high sec pos now guarded by concord, 1 raven down - Probing, bye bye low sec mission runners, 30 seconds to probe some1. Give it 2-3 weeks and the low sec mission runners are back in high sec. - Local standings showing. Do we really want every1 to logoff, run to pos when one negative dot enters local? (0.0 issue), this means no more roaming/solo pvp. Long live the massive gatecamps. - do i need to go on?
David, soon to be david1-david6 to make more contracts

And this is the amazing part. Its like the last month of testing and discussions never happened. Some folks only come to the forums to whine, and not to learn.
Want proof? Go open the in-game help channel and read for a while:
wot iz rig slots? wot iz rig slots? wot iz rig slots? wot iz rig slots?
Sigh.

I wouldn't mind but being unable to play is tantamount to legalised pickpocketing

It is weird. I'd have to say this is a fairly nice patch - at least i can log in and do pretty much everything i used to be able to do (with a few hiccups in functionality here and there)
But there are thigns i was unhappy with before, and am still unhappy with them. <shrug>

do you expect these people whose prefered playstyle got removed from the game will shut up and watch their dismissal from the game??
i can tell you - gatecamping IS NOT one of the no-longer-viable playstyles. covert ops specialist IS. ___________________

Technically the patch was pretty good. *cough*
The changed/new features though are up to discussion and opinion.
Have you ever been in an online game where the players did not air their opinions on changes and features? --*=*=*--
The cause for this is not yet known, but we do have a possible fix in testing. by Sharkbait | 2006.09.20 |

Have to agree with the OP. While there is usually someone complaining about somthing it's been nothing but whining and griping since the deployment, often about trivial things or somthing that someone has already posted.
What's even more suprising is this last expansion has to be one of the smoothest deployments in Eve to date (even with kieron STILL jinxing it).
I have the body of a supermodel. I just can't remember where I left it.

No, I'm just stating that all the whining gets you nowhere. I mean, the patch is barely 3 days old, and people don't seem to grasp that there will be further tweaks. With a gameplay as rich and expanded like Eve, you will have to take in account that some changes look good on paper and in testing, but work out differently.
In the beginning of the game it was possible to fit heatsinks without stacking penalties. The Armageddon was the uber ownage mobile. It totally wrecked combat though. And guess what. The devs weren't blind, they fixed it. It's just plain immpossible to anticipate what players will do. ;)
The devs aren't gods, they need time to get unexpected things back in balance.

I think the new patch is excellent and am experiencing the same level of gameplay (if not better) than prior to kali/revelations.
People need to realise that this wasnt just a patch, it was an expansion, and in my very lowly opinion i think CCP have done a great job
