I previously posted a tread about getting the screen saver but there was some missundersanding that I was refering to a problem with the stream and the thread got blocked.
I'll try again. I really like the EvE TV screen saver that shows the frames off all the ships. Is there any way to get that, I want to put it on my computer. Thanks

I concur, what a good screen saver that would make...it would beat out anything else ive ever seen. Hope we can get it...if not, let the fan community do what it does best.

That only works if you have Media Player 9 installed. Not 8, or 10 or 11. Just 9.

I'd love to let you have it, but I'm gonna find a way to make it work as a screensaver first... compressing it and putting it through a SS making program might do the trick, atm I've got a 3.5gig screensaver file... laff

Good luck compressing it. 3.5 gib is pretty high resolution video and probably pretty long. but I would like to see it. Let us know if it can be done, or release it and let some of us uber geeks try our hand at it

Yes I am going to bump an old thread.
You could try compressing it into bink media format

that should compress the video quite a bit (with some qualety loss, but it needs to be smaller right?)
And with some fiddeling around you could get the bink converter to make an stand alone .scr file of it, wich is great also. I know it is free for personal use, but I don't know how that is with company's using it.
Oh and, please, GIEVE TEH SCREENSAVER. even after this time I still think it is very cool to have

Short version - Here is my attempt at the eve-tv screensaver: Linkage
Slightly longer version
Ok then, here is a first attempt at a screensaver that looks like the one they had on eve-tv. Install instructions are in the ReadMe.txt file, extract the zip to your eve directory and hopefully you should just have to run the Install shortcut (might have to be edited). After that it should appear in the screensaver list, atm there is no preview in the screensaver chooser thingy though.
The first time the screensaver is run it might take a while to convert the models, but after that it
shouldn't take long to start.
Eve-tv logo: Looks really crappy because I couldn't find a proper one, it's just a scaled up thumbnail :/ If someone have a better version I would appreciate it if you could point the way.

But id rather have the EVE TV logo in the bottom right corner with a EVE and CCP logo as well. Would look nicer IMO and also fill in some of that empty space.

It was probably started in the wrong directory so it couldn't find the model files, make sure you follow the install instructions and make sure you delete the evescr\cache\*.bin files (that probably are very small < 1KiB, they should be from 100KiB to 500KiB).

You could try this earlier version, it doesn't have antialiasing and log file might be enabled: Linkage

Ok here is what I have done stem by stem and I still can not get it to work
First I downloaded it and saved it to the desktop. Then I copied it to C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE. Then I extracted the files to the eve file. Then I made a shortcut to the evescr. I then went to the properties and added TARGET: "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\EveScr.exe" ūinstall. Then I double click the shortcut and then I go check the system32 file and the evescr is there I then check the Hkey and the dir says C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE and I still donĘt get to see a screensaver

You can edit the evescr\script.txt file, at the bottom there is a "screen {" line, rename it to "screen_ {" and it will be gone.

I'm running on Windows Vista, fully patched with current patches on a Compaq Presario laptop v6205NR and when trying to install the EveScr.exe using the -install switch nothing happens. I was able to get the screensaver to work by copying the contents of the .zip file into my Eve directory and then copying the EveScr.exe into C:\Windows\System32\ and renaming it to EveScr.scr then going into the registry and under the HKLM\Software I added the key value EveScr and under that key I added the string data type named Dir with the value of C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\

I try to make its work the sreensaver.

Tho im after one of the ships from off the evetv broadcast in particular, it looks like the Megatron front with the 2 fangs at the front, but has not go the bridge shape on the back, ive seen it on promo pictures, and on the evetv screen saver.
Ive checked the gal ships, and i cant seem to find it, anyone have any idea what the ships called, call me stupid if i missed something but not before ^^ :)

Fed issue thron looks, from a wireframe perspective, identical to the normal thron. It's the skin that is different.
He could mean a heretic/coercer, since that has 2 'fang' like parts at the front.
