I have been watching the KillBoards - Seems like an epic fight going on in RYC-19 at the moment.
Can we get some details?

Sorry ? How does it affect BOTH side when over half of our fleet is stuck in queues ?

Lag is something you can't really control. I was sure we'd lose that carrier kill because the nodes would crash since it was lagging like hell, but well, nodes held up for a change :)
Point being, it affects everyone in these kinds of situations, you just were in the recieving end this time. When you attack an armed pos and it lags it is mostly favoring the defender.

First of all, queues =/= lag.
No offense but what did you expect when trying to jump 200+ into one system at the same time, and from 2 different gates with the way EVE has been lately?
If it makes you feel any better I lost my Tempest to only 3 BS out of your whole fleet shooting at me (according to the killmail anyway). I clicked warp as soon as I started taking damage, but didn't warp away until nearly a full minute later. Which happened to be AFTER my BS died. :)
Either way, it was fun. RA/Goon/TCF took a bit of a beating this time, but it was just one battle. Maybe next time we'll be the ones jumping in to you all - San |

big lag. CCP badly work. To play every day because of problems with a server there is all worse.

Dont blame lag for your deaths ,No one forced you guys to jump in, Atleast the node didnt crash.

Can we get some details?
Brief Details (As I'm bored and cant sleep):
2 POS's were set to come out in the evening, one in KZF, one in RYC.
V and LV fortified RYC in a stragetic move, KZF wasnt a problem, RYC was
KZF POS killed, Goons + RA mobilise to invade RYC
RA Carrier warps to V and LV gatecamp in RYC, RA and Goon forces in nearby system jump into RYC
Mass lag happens, everyone gets lagged to hell
RA and Goons suffer heavy losses (Approx. 50%), including the loss of the Archon Carrier, maybe they were hit more by the lag than we did
RA and Goon warp off and continue with hit and run tactics from sniping positions for the night
-V- and LV Fleet was numbered around 120, 12 losses reported. RA and Goon fleet was reported to be around 80, 39 ships were recorded as destroyed which included 12 BS, 13 Cruisers and the Carrier. Would have been much more fun had there wasnt epic lag during it

Maybe your losses reporting system needs some rework.

In fact there were over 300 people in system in RYC at the the high point of the battle. Our fleet numbered 120 with about 50 battleships and the Goons/RA had 140 in IAK, 20 in system and more were in WO- and X2-. I would say the enemy fleet numbered around 200.
Full props to them for jumping in. We've done it many times but in such instances the larger fleet normally loses. I remember two times in the last month that we've jumped into Goons/RA hopelessly outnumbered and have slaughtered them.
We were waiting on the X2 gate at first and expected them to jump in from C-J that way but the enemy split its forces and crept up on us the back way via 1V- and KZF. We rushed to to the KZF gate in IAK and had a stand-off there which transferred to RYC when our fleet moved back due to new forces spotted in X2-.
Then they pulled a suprising tactic and jumped in a carrier right on top of our gate camp and our forces focused fire on it. This was a ploy to get the enemy fleet in and quickly realising this we focused fire on the battleships.
The lag was terrible. We lost our FC and normal target callers. Alot of people crashed including me and it took me 15 minutes to get back in. So Goons/RA were not the only people queued to get back in - many of us were too (around a third). I was #144 to get in and could only listen over TS in excitement and disappointed as we finished off the first wave of battleships and then killed the carrier that was still there. I managed to get in in time for a battle on the WO- gate where the lag was managable and the slaughter continued.
Looking at our our killboard we killed around 80 ships and looking at the Goon/RA boards we lost half that. But maybe alot more ships were destroyed than that and I'm sure some got posted on LV's board and not on V's and vice versa.
Have to say that people that stepped up to do the target calling did an outstanding job. The new Fleet/Gang system is somewhat confusing but once everyone gets familiar with it it is going to be a great feature. Unfortunately Revelations brings no added goodness to fleet battle in terms of lag relief. Be nice if they could replace Scalding Pass nodes with new WoodCrest servers or something because it's in the Top 3 of fleet battle hotspots in EVE.
I'm sure CCP isn't enjoying the 100+ RYC related reimboursement petitions they just received. On a personal note I was very satisfied to kill Nync. Hopefully Dmitry Wizard and Iraf Thaiberg can grace my cross-hairs this weekend and I'll be a complete capuleer once again.

Great fight from what I heard.
A few (quite a few?) people crashed but not the node, props to CCP on that. In RMR it would have been a node crash fest but as it stands it was just a lag fest. --

CCP reimbursed the carrier and so far have reimbursed virtually every ship lost. There was no node crash, but gate queues prevented more than half the fleet from jumping in, and the other half mostly blackscreened when they got in. Lallente claimed in RYC local that he petitioned for nobody to be reimbursed as an "exploit" which apparently made the GMs laugh.
Sorry Lallente

Why? What part of "warped to an enemy gate camp and didn't crash but I died" is reimbursable? Sounds like someone is riding the system
