Since KALI was implemented, is there a 'best' race to pick for only PvP? I was suggesting to him that he should be a Caldari or Gal. He'll be learning the game from scratch. He's installing the game right now. Can anyone give me a suggestion please?

I would say Caldari are the easiest to start. Being a decent pilot in the beginning stages requires less sp for Caldari then another race. Though overall, i think Galantte have the better pvp ships. Or do what i did and start Caldari, and then move on to Galantte, and have a killer combo. Both races compliment each others weapons very well.

I'd have to say Caldari too :/
Though I may be a Caldari character its only cause i like the look of them, fly Gallente myself. Though Caldari is a solid bet to a new player.. it is after all Eve on easy mode.

Gallente. Drones are damned easy compared to missiles (which are a pain if you're fighting anything small). Plus with blasters, you can break heavier tanks easier.

Being a Caldari pilot myself for over a year now, I'd have to say Minmatar. They're not easy to start out with, but they are the best all-around and have the fastest ships without breaking a sweat.
I'm not in the mood to write a 3-page paper as to each and every reason as to why Minnies are the best, so that's it.

Generally Caldari and Gallente are considered the best races for PvP, but really, all have their advantages and disadvantages, and it comes down to play styles. I have one Caldari and two Gallente characters - the Caldari is for general play (mining, PvP, ratting), one Gallente is for PvP\capital ships, and the other Gallente is for industry. Each fulfills a specific role.

best way to start - create an achura (see threads on how to make one with the best attributes) then spec it out gallente.
