since i first flew the maelstrom, I always wished there was a variant. at least give us some navy or pirate faction versions, if not t2's. |

I think most tier 3's are without a tech 2 variant. most don't seem to need one... |

MOAR SHIPS !!!
There is a lot of ppl who would like to see their favorite ship in navy stripes or t2 variant. My friend loves the Abaddon and he's patiently waiting the day CCP makes a cooler version.
Imho every ship in eve should have variations and not just in one class. I'm sure that would make a lot of ppl happy.
... and I'm waiting for T3 frigs, ever since CCP mentioned them. I'd rather see T3 frigs then CQ Today - The Power of Two Tomorrow - 2 Hulks and an Orca |

What specific purpose would you have T2 t3 Battleships carry out? New ships for the sake of new ships and without any clear planned niche for them to occupy is exactly the sort of ITZ KEWL AND AWESOME!!!! attitude which gave us two iterations of Supercaps Online and relegated entire classes of existing ships to gethering dust in hangars for years at a time. If you have a role for them great (see: tier 3 battlecruisers), but throwing them in as 't3 battleships only better' just because you want a Rokh in a Kaalakiota paintscheme or something is going to end badly.

With the current frigate range in the mess that its in (three quarters or so of existing hulls being worthless junk), T3 frigs are the last thing that we need. Fundamentally rework the existing range first (fix assault frigs, EA frigs, virtually every T1 frig except the rifter, etc), then take a step back and think about whether we need to see T3s. Introducing them now will do nothing but further break the range and consign even more existing ships to the scrapheap. |

A role needs to be found for a ship to perform, and then a ship should be made to fill it. Creating a ship that doesn't do anything all the other ships are already of doing at the same capacity is how hangar ornaments are born.
Also as a small craft pilot, I wholeheartedly support any improvement to frigate class hulls. |

The ships in eve follow a rough pyramid hierarchy that carries similar numbers of frigs and cruisers. Though frigates play a marginalized role in fleet fights(scouting, tackling, pings, etc..), there are some interesting roles that they could fill that fit in with the current game mechanics. LR remote eccm and logi bonuses would be interesting. More t1 or navy faction frigates would also be fun both solo and in fleets. T3 frigs I'm guessing would arrive sometime soon, and would hope they would before any other classes get a t3.
The new bc's are great. In the right hands, can really pack a punch. Nobody has done this yet, so being disappointed with them is a little short sighted. CCP seems to want us to fight in fleets at greater ranges. Sniper bs's of old most likely wont make a comeback, but the new bc's do offer great dmg at ranges most fleets dont engage at currently.
Also, a t2 version of the tier 3 bs wouldn't just be an uber version of the t1 hull as the OP and subsequent posts elude to. Vindicators, Nightmares, Machs already fill the roles of ships with crazy dmg output. If there was a t2 tier3 bs, it would likely have a unique bonus. Possibly a new form of interdiction |

You guys missed my point. What I'm talking about is having an option to choose from.
"Creating a ship that doesn't do anything all the other ships are already of doing at the same capacity is how hangar ornaments are born." - nobody says you have to buy every ship in the game. Don't like it then don't buy it.
To me, it would be nice to have 6 different heavy assult ships to choose from. They all fill the same role, but they would look different giving players a choice to pick their favorite hull. Like an Exequror in a hac version. You could ofc make some little differences in stats and slot layout. I.E. Exequror with 4 high slots (-1 less then Deimos) could be given a slight bonus to drone damage so that it has comparable DPS to Deimos...
I just like veriety... Today - The Power of Two Tomorrow - 2 Hulks and an Orca |

I admit, I would love to have a marauder based of the Rokh hull. Be too much of a pain in the ass to also have to train Gallente BS V if I want to use rails. A Drone based Marauder for the Gallente would also be fair. Both races have a dual weapons system (Caldari: Rails and Missiles, Gallente: Blasters and drones), so it would be nice to have a T2 BS in each class for each weapon system rather than marauder if you want hybrids and tin can black ops for drones if you are Gallente and missiles or GTFO if you are Caldari.
Also here's a wild idea: Tier 3 BC based black ops. Would require the same Black Ops skill but Battlecruisers V (Probably also racial cruiser V) instead of racial BS V. A glass cannon seems like it would be well suited to surprise hit-and-fade attacks, and, like with Marauders as mentioned above, would give players a choice between weapons systems. |

Which it pretty much already can be by the tech I versions. The purpose of this vacuous statement is exactly, what?
