How do people kit out to do missions in the domi for level 4's? I've tried the NOS and drones that make level 3's easy but find i can't quite handle the damage on level 4's. I can't fit tech 2 large or medium weapons, nor tech 2 passives for another 6 days.
My level 3 setup:
1 x Dual 250mm rail 2 x heavy neutron blasters ( medium ) 2 x heavy knave energy drains 1 x tractor beam
1 x Heavy cap booster 1 x Named webber 2 x cap recharger 1 x target painter
1 x Large Vestment 1 x MAR II 1 x damage control the rest mission specific hardeners.
I'm at the point now where level 3's are so easy they are boring, but level 4's I just struggle to wear them down fast enough before they wear me down.
Should i fit more large rails? Only i find the damage i get from these is less than T2 small blasters.
any suggestions?

Edited by: Xori Ruscuv on 03/12/2006 11:15:39 In my experience, my BC is *faster* at level 3s than either of my BS.
Anyway, to handle damage, you're probably going to want to get 2x LAR IIs on there. Using both cap rechargers AND a cap booster is probably a waste.
It's great playing Caldari-online, isn't it?

Mids: x2 painters x2 drone trackin mods x1 cap recharge
Lows: x1 LAR (or x2 MAR II)
edit: Ignore this i thought it was for level 3's althouth it might be good for some of the drone missions havig something useful in the highs as well.

If you're not making any headway in a Domi in L4s its either because your skills are not up to par and/or your setup is not tank friendly. If you want a tank, you need to make sure your tank is not limited by cap. I know some of this may be stating the obvious but if you want more specific pointers feel free to ask.
My setup is based on my Drone skills, so I care not about guns except to aggro and provide support vs cruisers.
2 x Heavy NOS ("E500" have 23km range - some Cruisers, BC and BS will stay out standard NOS range) 3 x T2 small or med Railguns 1 x Drone Link Augmentor **This used to be 2 x gun and 1 x Tractor for looting, but the expansion killed this :-(
1 x Omnidirectional Tracking Link 4 x Cap Recharger II
4 x Active Hardener II 1 x Adaptive Nano II 1 x 1600MM Tungsten Armor / 1 x Magnetic Field Stab II 1 x Large Armor Repair II
This works with most missions, sometimes I get rid of the armor for an extra LAR (Zazzmatazz).
So please note this isn't a fix for every mission, but if your skills are up to the task and you're familiar with the arrangements of each mission you'll do fine with a similar arrangement.
Quite honestly, the Heavy NOS are overkill because I can tank with my setup just using the 4 rechargers, so I'm probably wasting highslot. I just keep them on there because I'm too lazy to change my setup for every mission. I normally just swap out the low slots as needed and get rollin'

High 2x heavy diminishing nos 2x Drone augs 2x 75mm Railgun II
Med
5x eutectic or 5x cap recharger II
low
2x Large armor rep II or ( 2x large accom ) 3x Active hardener IIs or N-type ( DT dependant on mission ) 2x Capacitor power relay
you can run both large reppers indefinetly.

Not to be negative or anything but all the abouve setups kinda have it but then put on a module or two that is totaly useless.
This is the way to go: HIGH 3x heavy nos -- keeps cap going 3x what ever you want-- dont use stuff like smart bombs or lasers they will kill your cap (artillery is great) MED 5x cap rechargers -- is for keeping everything going with the nos. Cap boosters are a pain imo. LOW 2x large armor reps tech2 is gread but acomodation vestments get like 80 less hp repaired so they will work too. 5x rat specific hardeners dont put too much of the same hardener becuase of stacking penalty. I think that after 2 of the same active hardener energized plated do more.
ANGEL Tank, Minmitar republic 2x Exp 2x kin 1 energized adaptive nano Serpentist, Gurista, Mordus Tank, Galente navy, Caldari Navy tank 2x therm 2x kin 1x energized adaptive nano Blood raiders, Sansha, Ammar navy 2x em 2x therm 1x energized adaptive nano
Shoud have a good mix of lights and heavies in drone bay hobgoblins, ogres, wasps, warriors and bezerkers are good. Use the lights for speed to kill frigs cus heavies wont hit and are too slow.
Good luck

5x250mm rail ii 1xdrone range mod 5xcap recharger ii 1xlarge rep ii 6xhardener ii 5xheavy 5xsentry 5xlight 5xmed
I havn't used it in a while, so I don't know if drone bugs are fixed now, but a few months ago this ship was a huge pain to use, due to whole stage aggros. If those bugs still exist, I would honestly suggest training a raven. Even with far less SP in caldari than gallente, raven does far better in missions. ________________

I get what you're saying, but if you're a drone Domi the Drone Aug and Omnidirectional are just about a must. I could probably live without them but they do serve good purposes. I don't like having a melee with interceptors - I'd rather get the tracking speed up and let my drones chew them up fast.

The ops qestion is a setup for lvl 4 missions but even in PVP light tech 2 drones are more than capable of destroying interceptors. The drone link augmentor will give you a 65km control range over 45 which by all means you can fit because 3 heavy noss leaves 3 high slots open as long as you dont stick something dumb that will kill your cap. The idea is to keep the tank going and each large armor rep takes up like 35 cap/s and 3 heavy nos give you 10 cap/s each so you got 1 rep coverd by nos and the other one covered by 5 cap rechargers.
If you want to PVP then use the same set up as i had posted but try even out the resits and put 3 remote sensor damps a 20km disruptor and a sensor booser cus jammers on the domi are worse then before and racials wont work as well so might as well make their lock range 2km and make them take 150 sec. to lock you which is plenty of time for them to die.
