When you decide that you've set the skill requirement too high, do you:
a) Change it, annoying a few people. b) Change it, putting in place some unintended fudge to "compensate" those that trained the previous reqs, that may well cause it's own problems and require yet another change down the line. c) Leave it as-is and allow the design flaw to remain in perpetuity.
And in comes the most sensible poster on this forum, to save the day. ;-D
Oh an I'm voting... c) with a touch of b) ;-P

But it's a skill for a mini profession. It's not a design flaw. It's like saying the prereq skills for tech 2 ships and guns should be lowered because there's a design flaw. Let's make inty prereq skills level 3 so anyone can fly them! Everyone should be able to be an inty pilot just like that! It's bad enough skill reqs for advanced learning skills were lowered to 4.
The players annoyed are the ones that can't be assed to work with people who choose to train the skill. If skill reqs are lowered for salvaging then they need to do it for the other skills intended for mini professions. But before that the devs really need to ask themselves what the ******* point is of mini professions if there's no need to spend time on some skills. Lowering the skills lets everyone and their mother do it.
If it's just a matter of players being annoyed that they can't tell looted wrecks from unlooted wrecks then that's what should be taken care of. If players don't want any wrecks to remain, the simple thing to do is destroy the wrecks. The patch should fix it so that drones can destroy wrecks since people can't seem to be compelled to use ammo.
Are you a designer of EVE? No... Then how are you qualified to decide on what is or is not a design flaw... you're not. kthxbye cu l8r like way l8r

Are you referring to me or the guy I quoted?
Ehm.... You.
Since it's being changed, it's pretty obvious that CCP does consider it to be a design flaw... Matthew is just making it clear why this is being changed. You on the other hand, decide that even though the designers of EVE quite clearly consider it to be a flaw, it's not a flaw... because you say so... which is pretty... well lets keep it at something the filter doesn't like ( which doesn't say much to be fecking honest, not much that the filter does like ).
