Edited by: Qece on 03/12/2006 17:14:18 I'm pretty new, not a complete noob but 50/50.
Anyhow, I've been around the block a few times in EVE and I know a fair amount but I've got some questions that searches on here haven't proved to answer.
LP for faction BS's.............wut? What the hell is LP and how do I do claim my reward?
Certificates from storyline missions. What are they and what do they do? I've not done a mission in about 3 months after I found them to be not to my playstyle.
How do you find out where you can put a small POS?
T2 bluprint lottery. How to join? I have a fair idea on this but could use some clarification.
What T2 ship blueprints can you win on the lottery?
What are complexes?
That's all I can think of atm. Hope that somebody can help me. Thanks in advance

Loyalty Points are something you receive for completing missions for agents. They're shown in the mission details, below the reward and time bonus.
LP are cashed in when an agent sends you an Offer. Agents will send you one of these every few days. You can freely turn them down with no penalty, but you won't get another offer from the same agent until you do another mission for them (you'll still have to wait, but this will let the agent know you're still interested in offers).
You cannot do anything to get a particular Offer except find out how many LP it needs, and then stop running missions (except to get another offer if you need to reject one) once you reach that point. It will come eventually.
You can put a small POS at any unoccupied moon in 0.3 space or lower. If you want to go in 0.4 space or higher, your corporation needs STANDING with the faction that owns that space of 10x the security level (so 0.5 needs 5.0 standing).
You join the lottery by getting an R&D agent and having them "head your team" for research. There's a whole guide on them here.
Currently you cannot win any T2 ship blueprints, since they have all been awarded. You can use your RP to get datacores from your R&D agent and try and upgrade a T1 BPC to a T2 BPC though.
Complexes are basically dungeons in space. They have bad guys to shoot, and can have special rewards like faction BPCs drop from overseers.

Right, I remember my agent offering my loads of transport modules (or similar). I always accepted them, should I instead reject them and hoard my LP for something bigger?
How do you enter a complex and I take it they're not soloable so what kind of gang configuration am I looking at? How many people can enter a complex at one time? Where are these complexes or are they the Rogue Drone thingies I see on my overview?
Anyone have a clue about the certificates?

It depends on what level missions you're running. For instance, the Caldari Navy Raven offer (a Caldari faction ship) is around 200,000 LP if I recall correctly. The chances of earning that much LP running level 1s is pretty slim. Still, low level agents will offer better stuff than just trade goods, for instance implants.

You can spam a complex with as many friends as you want, though a 2/10 is soloable in a frigate without much trouble. There is a size limit on entering complexes (only frigates in 1/10, frigates+destroyers in 2/10, them plus cruisers in 3/10, and so on). You enter a complex by warping to the beacon then using the acceleration gate you find there.
On the offers, it's best to hoard your LP for GOOD offers. Don't waste your time on drug offers, for instance.

I've seen those acceleration gates around so I do know what you're talking about now.
Another question that I just remembered. There was a thread that I viewed about a month ago which detailed which ECM was best for which race but I'm damned if I can find it now. Any help on this?
Oh, also, how do you see how much LP you have for each agent and is it collective LP for a faction or department of a faction or is it just xxxx amount of LP per agent?

Gravimetric (Spatial Distortion) against Caldari, Ladar against Minmatar (Phase Inverter), Radar (White Noise) against Amarr, Magnetometric (Ion Field) against Gallente.
You find out its rating by Show Infoing the beacon. If there is a rating, that's how you view it.

Thanks but there was a thread about certain ECM having a bonus for which race is using it IIRC. I dunno, maybe I'm mistaken.
Thanks to all for the info, checking out the certification thread now.
Compared to other MMO's I've played I have to say that the EVE community is by far the most helpful.

OH, you mean the different kinds of electronic warfare.
ECM is the Caldari kind. It cuts target locks, and the sensor types I listed are the only ones used by the race I listed it with.
Sensor dampners are the Gallente kind. They reduce locking speed and locking range on enemies, forcing them to fight close in and making it take forever to get a lock.
Tracking disruptors are the Amarr kind, wreaking havoc on the ability of an enemy turret to hit at a long range or track close-moving targets.
Target painters are the Minmater kind. They... er... Make the enemy's signature larger, so over-sized missiles hit for more damage and turrets hit more easily.
There's nothing restricting you from using the electronic warfare of another race, but the races each have electronic warfare ships that get bonuses to their race-specific EW.
