Well done and all, but I don't know why the playerbase should be celebrating .
there are a few systems lagging, yes. but the cluster as a whole i holding out very well and has alot of room left. none of the proxies have even risen above 42% cpu yet

Maybe you could say what is your problem? it's a bit vague as description "can't login". You could link to a thread, maybe summit a bug report with your log...
If so many people are in the game right now, maybe your issue is a little particular so you might need to help find what is affecting YOU.
good point. it's quite possible there could also be a isp issue over the world somewhere. more information is needed

I have posted in tech suport several times...I have petitioned...I have tryed every voodoo magic fix that people think of as have MANY other people with this problem.
We have recieved NO offical response on the subject...no reply to anyones petition with helpfull information, I hope you have no similar problem as I was under the impression that CCP had a good customer service system, I repeat I am shocked at how little help we are getting on this.
If they are working on the problem they havn't let anyone know, so forgive me if I find the prospect of celebrating how many people are playing the game depressing as I and hundreds of others cannot even login.
Check the Tech support forums for the posts relating to this . You will see the frustration,
you have still told me no information. i;m at home right now not in the office. if you want to give some information, i might be able to help

Originally by: Angelica Amarria Sorry guess im just frustrated, i apologise...
The problem is that the login screen hangs on checking status, or alternatively once a hour I may get to loading bulk data dialogue and it will hang there and eventually timeout.
I have tryed deleting cache, I downloaded the full client from scratch and reinstalled after doing a regsitry clean just to try to rule that out but still no success.
I was able to login yesterday for a while but the problem has since came back today.
I understand if this is patch related and am happy to wait out the problem if its being looked into but yesterday when mayn people posted of their login problems there was no official word that it might be looked into etc
Thank you for taking the time to consider the problem.
during the "geting bulk data" thing you are downloading the static data. any packet losses might disrupt this pocess and cause it to hang. this sounds very much like an isp issue.
press start press run type cmd type "ping 87.237.38.200"
whats your average ping time and did you lose any of the packets from the 4 ping requests ?

if you can do a trace route, that would help. will show exactly where the problem is, if it's ip related.

As has been pointed out, last night wasn't that glorious a record at all. The reason was that we had in total of 19 node deaths after the peak, which after investigation is involving bugs causing performance problems before they eventually crash, not actual performance problems due to a lot of people. The amount of simply people make it more likely to that the loops of death start without the nodes being able to recover.
All hands are on deck getting TQ into shape. As people have stated here, TQ around 25K is quite nice except for the congested solar system (That's you people in Jita), which we'll also address in addition to the crash bugs.
