sorry... i dont think the nerf to ECM ships was a good thing. but i also disagree with you. I wont die to "any BC". Not even after the nerf. But i certainly cant kill "any BC" and i cant even begin to think of killing "any BS" before or after the nerf. Solo that is. :p

maybe a beer too much in me... i just noticed the "No" in the begining of your post. However the rest of it makes my opinion seem valid.. I am cofnused.... Or drunk..

The ECM nerf was a little bit too much. Slightly underpowered is an improvement over moderately overpowered, but still not balanced. at level 4 shipskills: In order to maintain the same power, the scorpion and the blackbird both both need to sacrifice every lowslot to t2 signal distortion amps. The rook needs 1 more signal distortion amps than it even has lowslots, to maintain the same power. ECM is nearly useless on non-Caldari vessels - highly unlike target painting, sensor dampening, or tracking disrupting. The ECCM boost also represents a significant nerf. I would highly recommend the devs scale back the ECM nerf to -33.3% their previous power, rather than -50%. I think most people considered ECM specialists somewhat balanced before, taking into account the number of whines about overpoweredness and the number of whines about underpoweredness.
Rigs could make the difference (if a means of manufacture is found that doesn't take man-weeks to produce each one) and bring them up to their former power, however since all ships get rigs, the opposition is boosted in relation to ECM specialists as well.
I strongly oppose attempts to boost the ECM ship bonus further - that way leads to a lack of diversity in ship setups.

Not an ecm hater. i use it myself. However, the nerf was needed. The have ecm or die is finally gone. I cant tell ya how many times i had heard people say...."I dont need a tank on my ship, i have ecm"
