Hmm...
Clone jump to station A, clone jump out from station A without boarding a ship between the two jumps, clone jump back to station A. Voilß, you have a pod in your ship hangar. I doubt it wouldn't be possible to change the pod's name too.

Well, it's not my pod. First time i've been to this station in 00 in a year... it was just there :P It was not mine, pretty funny though. It kinda smelt bad :S -=====-

Did you buy your char?
Back in the day, capsules remained in the ship hangar. Maybe the previous owner of your char accepted a trade of someone's stuff, and only now you've come across it...

After a clone jump you can't do anything unless you board a ship. You're not even sitting in a pod. If you have no ship in the station SCC will donate a rookie ship to you.
Or has the 'not even in pod' part been fixed in [Rev]? --*=*=*--
The cause for this is not yet known, but we do have a possible fix in testing. by Sharkbait | 2006.09.20 |

Back in the day pods did not get removed, actually before shuttles people used them to move ships. When people got too many pods in the same station they would simply stick a bunch of them into a hauler, go into space and jetison them all.
Now as for a pod being in your ships hangar that dosnt have your name on it...
well corps have a setting when people can look into your hangar and even place things there, you sure an old corp boss hasnt dumped a pod into yourse?
Additionally you can have claimed it from an escrow as well as gotten it as sa bonus in a trade and missed it.
I run into stuff I have forgotten all the time when moving about, its actually a bit scary when you get to station and you realize that you are the proud owner of a fully fitted BS that you have completely forgotten about :)

I wish there was an option of arranging passenger transit. Fill an industrial with other people's pods and shuffle them across to the new location...
Even simply being allowed to move someone else's jump clone around would make things a lot more interesting.
