I don't like to be the bringer of bad news but the lastest AMD drivers seems to break EVE and no I do not intent to install windoze 10 just because M$ said so.

Program ExeFile.exe, Version 2015.7.91.6031 can no longer run on Windows and was exited - Error 10020 Application hang.
Warning driver "amdkmdap" does not respond and has been reset.
I just updated to the latest AMD Catalyst 15.7 driver but it crashed even with the Catalyst 15.4 Omega beta.
The second I click on my main, I get a black screen and EVE crashes.

I'm now suffering driver crashes when trying to run sleeper sites in wormholes on sisi. I've also noticed this occuring in a couple of anomolies and asteroid belts, gonna deactivate all my graphics settings and see if that works (but let's be honest its those godawful resource hogging clouds we've complained about for over 6 years that's the problem).

Ok so I literally just panned around to looking at the site, driver crash, luckily I panned back away in time to stop it from crashing the client. What do I need to do right now to save this information and send it?

Sorry for the delay. It was two patches ago that I tried to log on with a Nightmare in space and everytime the client crashed so I updated to the latest catalyst 15.7 from the AMD site but it didn't help until the last patch.
Since then it's working, well most of it.
Oh and I cleared my client cache like twice to make sure it took, seems to have worked. You can clear the client cashe with the launcher in the launcher settings somewhere.
Hope it helps.

If the client doesn't crash immediately then all of my UI elements go blank, followed up with the whole screen turning white. It ONLY happens on SISI and seems to be caused by *something* present within a sleeper site and other similar sites. As far as that goes the game is literally unplayable with the client freezing up and crashing to desktop.
FWIW I run in windowed mode for a number of reasons, I can't remember exactly why I switched to always being in windowed mode but I think it's because I used to get some kind of ridiculous crash in fullscreen mode and this was the solution to that.

I'll have to remember to start my pc in safe mode tomorrow and try reinstalling my video drivers from there. Clearly something isn't right and there doesn't seem to be any way to point out what it is.

Please force the client to crash my rapidly clicking the white window that Windoze produces when a thread dies. That way an entry in the logs is created which you can look up.
Do the following steps to read the logs: Press and hold the windows key and "R" which opens a small window where you enter "eventvwr" and then "ENTER".
Then the management console opens and you have to go to "Administrative Events" or something similar (sorry using the german Windoze language settings so it may sound different in the english one).
Threre should be a list of event that windoze has listed like Error, Warning and Info. Errors are with a red icon.
Should work equally on Win Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10.

Yeah I know but they are some kind of a tradeoff between saving energy and performance. Do I need a newer model? Most definately but can I afford one? Nope.

I'm using a 7970 I don't feel like I should have to upgrade it when essentially a driver update has caused this issue. I don't feel like risking my **** on TQ to find out if the error is being replicated there.

You are not the only one that suffers from this issue. Right now the tournament teams want to train their setups but keep reporting crashes like yours which make training a hassle they cannot afford.
I haven't logged on yesterday but the day I said I thought it was fixed it was, at least for me.
Kudos for having a 7970, I still have the HD 6850 but it was doing just fine until said day. Will check again later today with the asteroid dust setting on and keep you updated.

Okay latest update:
I turned the dx settings back to 11 and turned the sandstorm effects for asteroid belts back on and killed some Serpentis. No hugh framedrops or crashes.
Looking good.

To keep up with the information:
A number of devs are looking into this now trying to track down the exact culprit.
Client settings, hardware configurations, and drivers (stable and beta) are all being evaluated, but every report we get with additional information about the conditions leading to framerate drop and driver crash events is helpful, so thank you all for the continuing diligence.

Additional information!
DX11 and the sensor overlay seem to be the key elements in some of these AMD display driver crashes.
Turning the sensor overlay off (CTRL-O, or hover between the shield bar and the cargo hold button then click the switch) or switching to DX9 are temporary workarounds for those crashes while the programmers deal with an actual fix.

This is what I did. Was running on dx9 for the time being.

Hello elitatwo...!!!
Hello Amarisen! Yeah I am switching to Linux in a bit but I am too lazy to make backups at the moment. The only thing that keeps me in addition to my lazyness is the launcher.
The launcher can not always be rendered correctly with whine(hq).
Moving on, I wanted to help the tournament teams to get back to training and not twiddle their thumbs while waiting to log back on to Duality or SiSi.
