I thought I would write something to help new players wanting to travel around in slow expensive ships but too lazy to actually have someone scouting for them or checking the map.
1. set your ap 2. fit plates, extenders and passive hardners 3. always warp to 0 4. if there is someone on the gate waiting for you, QUICKLY CLOSE YOU CLIENT (CTRL+Q) BEFORE YOU UNCLOAK !! 5. log back after 15-30 min, if there are still bad people in local quickly log again (!!!) before you exit warp and you will be perfectly fine
These easy steps will guarantee your safety when travelling around, I hope it helped.
Safe travels folks o/

It might be a bit of a troll post, maybe, but can you deny a good log is the best way to make you almost invulnerable in 0.0?
What I typed probably *is* the best way to survive in 0.0 with the current tools ingame.
I'd like to remind you logging is perfectly kosher for ccp and anyone is allowed to do it.

The sad part about it is that it works.
If you CTRL+Q, you should decloak, and sit still for two minutes, lowering your shields, and disabling all defensive mods. AND the pod should remain after the ship is blown up.
CCP should also hire people to go to your home and slap you on the cheek for being a twit.

I won't rest, until they fix it, like that your ship warps out, but isn't removed from space, until you back log in, which makes you vulnerable to probes (at least for an extended time.) Really quitting with being removed fast from space would require you to follow a regular log out procedure, that would take a bit time. (See my sig)
Once that's fixed: 'Thanks for the loot, logger !'

Well no one likes logging. If they do it its because it does work best than anything else (stabs, mwds, jammers).

tbh in a bs or heavy tanked ship this works 99% of the time but a hauler is easily popped in the 30 seconds it stays there for and u get just as much time to lock it as u do if they just hit warp.

Can't CCP write a wee line of code into the client to count how many CTRL+Q's the user does in each period between each downtime.....and then post the weekly results on a leaderboard type of thing split down into corps, alliances and individuals?
Also, can't they apply a 24 hour ban on anyone who exceeds 5 CTRL+Q's per day?

I have never met a logger. But I have met lots and lots of people that post in local after they found themselves in their pods claiming to have had lag and a disconnect just slightly after I warp jammed them.
Must me coincidence.
Also apparently it's lame to kill some one if they are lagging or about to get one of those random disconnects slightly after I jam them. So don't forget to convo someone and ask their permisson before you lock or fire. Manners maketh the pirate.

How about using the damn map to spot gateblobs?
What do you think its got all those options there for? Perhaps to please the anoraks of the game?

No, so that people can ignore them and then whine about something that is in place to help them. If you die in EVE you did something wrong. It's as simple as that.

LMAO! Didnt you know that! Its a bannable offense you know to lock/shoot/pod someone if there not ready or lagging or if it isnt a "fair Fight". ;) |

How about I park in a low sec system just the other side of a 0.0 chokepoint that is camped to hell, because people know it's an entry point to 0.0.
I wait there, and log in just after the maintenance downtime (the first few minutes it's up) and jump through.
Hey, nobody there! I'm on my way...

How about you just send a suicide alt through in a shuttle every 10 minutes?
Chokepoint gates aren't camped even remotely as often as people think. Theres some that are never camped as well if you can be arsed going to them.

No if's or but's about it , your guide to newer players is lame . What your saying is the best way to enjoy the game is not even play it , cos' thats what pressing Ctrl+Q means .
I might get flamed for this but I don't reckon new players should be flying solo around 0.0 with expensive ships in the first place , UNLESS they join a large 0.0 based corp that can replace ships , travel in groups ect. And by new players I do mean new in the sense someone who has never played EVE before , not some 2 day old alt .
When I started playing I stayed in empire for a few months , learn how to play the game and what was what then went to 0.0 and not before doing my homework , thats what you should be telling people to do . And surely encouraging people to log isn't right ? yes logging to go sleep and stuff is perfectly ok , telling people to log when they risk something ? well.....

You're right. But they definitely aren't camped to hell right after the servers come back up.

New as in, new to 0.0, but this works for everyone tbh.
What I am saying is if you wanna fly your battleship thru 0.0 risk free simply put as much hp buffer on and log when a gate is camped. It works 99% - the only time your ship will be killed before 60 second elapsed is when you run into a BIG camp or gank squad but all the small pirates and solo roamers cannot touch you *at all*.
Lame? It is legal ccp knows about it and does nothing, means they approve it. Now they boosted hp by 25% and still aggro/log timer is the same. Maybe this is to encourage new players into 0.0 that they keep the ctrl+q "tool"?
I am still sure this advice is welcome for many, altho they might not reply here for fear of being abused/flamed.

Unfortuantly that would create a bit of a problem because when the server crashes or cuts out (quite common) it'd create a lot of petitions.
Petition them, its an exploit. Do it enough times and they'll get banned.

The OP is 100% lame... why should new players travel in 0.0 with slow expensive ships ?
1) Autopilot brings you to bottleneck / high traffic systems , so it's better to follow a different path.
2) Plates increase your mass , slowing you down ; extenders increase your sig radius making you easier to lock.
3) Warp to 0 doesn't work when a gate is bubbled ! When spotting people in local , it's usually better to warp to 100km first to see if there is a gate camp.
4) Lame. The cloak time is enough to have the gate campers distracted if someone else jumps/warps in.
5) Not going to touch that one. I never logged out of stations / highsec anyway.
