Gyroth what the hell is the point of your post? Is to tell us there are still bugs in this game? Hello no freaking kidding buddy just like every single other game on the planet. These bugs will never really go away as new game features are sure to break other things, there will always be bugs. Guess what the little bugs that you mention have work around's and are not very high on the priority list. It may be hard to believe but there are other more pressing issues that are being worked on first. You not happy with the game? Ooh well then I guess we should all listen to your whinnying and quit? This game is not for everyone and it looks like its not for you if you cant look past some tiny bugs. Sounds like you looking for excuses to quit so go ahead you don't need to give us reasons to feel better about yourself.
Good luck finding another game of similar type that's half as good as eve. Its getting old when people come to the forums to explain why they want to quit. No one gives a crap why you want to quit this game is not meant for everyone period.

"Here's hoping that this game can correct the flaws that drive customers away."
Dare I say you were never the target customer. Maybe the problem is that you dont know what to expect from this type of game and forced yourself to try it?

Gyroth please show me where you asked for help. Your entire post was about how lame the developers are and that they don't know anything about how to make such a game. All because when you came back after six months same little problems were still there. Perhaps when you learn how to respect other peoples work and effort you may get some of that yourself.

Scorpyn you got it all wrong its common sense to ask for help not to leave it for some one else to assume. Your assumptions show through your entire post and its obvious that you know next to nothing about hardware with all your *nix nonsense. I also recommend that you read my posts before you reply to them. Your points read like answer to your assumptions as to what I may have said. If you read my post you will see that my point was that the bugs he mention are not as important as the bugs they have been fixing. I also mention that this game will never be bug free because the code will never be frozen.
My head hurts from your assumptions about windows servers, unix/linux and ups. Just please never peak of what you don't understand again. I could put up a 10 page reply to your fan boy imac using nonsense but its not worth it. Lets just say that the problem is not the hardware or the os but the game coding itself.
Bugs and stability is not the same thing. The game is stable for the most part and only freaks out on some configurations. Bugs often cause gaming issues and/or visual glitches. Both my computers I use daily are very stable and EVE ha s only ctd once on me this week. Considering how much I play that pretty much in line with any other game I have. Outside of buggy games my computer never has issue period and that's under heavy load.
So far we have learned that you cant comprehend what you read. You don't know anything about hardware and software. Worst of all you act on assumptions and you should know by now that assumptions is the mother of all ****ups.
Dr Bones the wannabe comedian that's not funny. Don't quit your day job yet, oops sorry keep playing eve. Then you decide to call me an idiot without explanation or reasoning. Good job man you make an elegant point that you also suffer from incurable disease, stupidity. If you think the points you put in your post somehow validate your "idiot" statement well then read above. Repeating what I said and pretending like that somehow contradicts my earlier statements might work on your friends.
Gyroth where did I resort to personal attacks? An example of that would be what Dr Bones said, just so you have a reference. Now show me where I wrote something even remotely similar.

Alright ill bite.. .:D
Mining: If you sit there alone mining with an indy then yes its extremely boring. If you have a well setup cruiser/bs with friends hauling it can be pretty fun. Killing a roid belt brings some satisfaction not to mention that you get rich quick. Mining is what you make of it, it can be slow and boring or it can be somewhat fun with great benefits.
Mining in lower sec space where npc and pirates can jump in and mess with you is a challenge for sure. I know I had fun trying to run blockades to/from supposedly locked down systems.
Bottom line mining is boring in real life and it is not the most fun in the game either. I am all ear on how you propose to make real work fun.
Hunting: I only did a little bit as I am still enjoying killing belts while building up my combat skills. I had some mad rushes when a bunch of 20-50k rats were pounding on me. The rare drops never hurt anyone either. You can make very good money just hunting and there are various npc factions with different ships and tactics. Anything below a battleship can have a real challenge with the cruiser npcs.
If you got to a battleship you need to move up and start playing with real opponents. There is plenty of places to die if you looking for fights the problems is the fact that people baby their new battleships. This is not a game issue its a bunch of cheap cowards. Yeah I know it takes a long time to get one and it hard to replace but if you don't take the risk you cant blame the game for lack of action.
The smack talk alone is hella fun if done in good spirit. Even with my limited combat experience it was very fun and its the next inevitable step for me.
Manufacturing is also fun in a sim kind of way. I am amazing blueprints and researching them with a long term strategy of opening a blueprint shop. The logical progression after that is to use the really well researched blueprints to manufacture your own. This blueprint gathering and researching alone could keep a person busy for a long time. With tech 2 stuff coming I am afraid of falling behind now, might have to invest more time in manufacturing skills now.
Hauling can be a profitable business as well. Create a hauling corp build up a good reputation and save up collateral. Make sure you can fly just about any ship in the game to offer ship transportation service. It all hinges on skills and collateral material. Start small and go from there.
Agent mission are lacking at the moment but that's slowly being fixed. They are getting storylines of their own, better integration with the market etc. Next few patches agents will be much more fun not to mention will offer more services such as security status adjustment.
The problem is that people don't really play all the available roles. They spend a little time and effort and consider that done. It doesn't work that way trying any one particular role takes time investment and effort to do it right. If you don't want to put in the effort to do it right don't expect anything back.
What you put in into your role playing is what you going to get out. Wow that's just like real life you have to work hard to get somewhere, what a concept. The people moaning about their is nothing to do need to put in more effort before giving up.
