I got 3 Warehouse Station Container that I've been trying to trash for 2 months. The containers are empty and unused. Every time I try to get rid of them there a message "The Audit Log Secure Container can not be reprocessed as it has a log entry that is less than three weeks old".
How do you get rid of these containers? |

you name the container with the date of the last time that you tried to look inside of it and then you don't touch the thing for 3 weeks maybe make it three weeks and a day just to be safe. After 3 weeks and one day has passed you right click on it and select repackage. |

Freighters can only carry un-packaged freight containers. |

Open trade with random person in the station.
Place container in trade window and click accept. |

Petition it and they might repackage it for you. They did it for me about a year ago.

This is why I only use general freight containers, that and they fit in a freighter for moving anyway.
Each time you attempt to repackage them it will create a new log saying you failed to repackage them ,thus restarting the timer.

Create disposable alt > trade / contract the containers > biomass the alt
Not my idea so I've never actually tested it to check that it works, but I read it somewhere and it sounded convincing.

So I am assuming that means that you can not jettison anything from them. However I don't recall having specifically tested this. |

My Corp was in the business of selling containers of all sorts. The problem is that containers don't get blown up and they don't rust and fall apart, so once you have your 50 station cans, you probably don't need to buy more. Whats worse, if you're moving station you're likely to put them back up for sale at a loss. A hard business to sustain, but the repackage condition is probably the biggest boon to anyone in it. That you can't trash something unpackaged seems a bit strange to me though. Can't for the life of me think why.
I checked that info re freighters. I thought you might be right, because you launch rather than jet freight cans, but it turns out you can jet anything you want from a freighter. I haven't tried to jet something bigger than 27.5Km3 to see what happens in that case, but smaller stuff works for sure.
The problem with jetting a station warehouse is twofold. Can't put an unpackaged can (besides freight cans) into a freighter and warehouses are 10mil m3 unpacked so even if you could, I don't know a freighter big enough to do it.
I do what's already suggested. Name it, date it and ignore it for a few weeks. Could try the disposable alt suggestion, sounds promising if a lot of work over a single can. And you should be able to destroy it if its unpackaged imo but I'm not CCP.

So what is the logic of having to wait 3 weeks before you can trash or repackage a warehouse station container? |

Patch Notes for Retribution 1.0, Released December 4, 2012 wrote:Ships * Freighters and jump freighters have been upgraded with a jettison tube and can freely jettison, scoop and move items between containers. They are still not able to load or scoop assembled containers into their cargo hold, except freight containers. Freighters have been common sights in ice fields and asteroid belts since then, as they can haul more than an Orca.
