I'm just wondering which race has the best hauling ship.

amarr has the best indy(bestower) also, as ur amarr u should already have the amarr frigate skill witch should make getting the skill for a bestower bestower even faster
well that is, gallente has a better one(itheron mk5) but it takes like 2months to train up the skill for it so its generally a waste unless ur really pursuing a career as indy pilot :)

Nonsense :) The Gallente Itheron Mk5 is the best indy in the game (though oc not for everything -- but it's the biggest by far). Training it will take you a long time, though 2 months is overkill. It mostly depends on how good your skills are... Anyway, if you quickly want a big indy, bestower is quick to train for.

The Bestower (Amarr) is the best all rounder industrial especially if you don't want to train for long. It gives a bonus to cargo space per Industrial Level you train for it.
The Iteron V (Galantee) is best industrial for space if you don't mind training for long. The Iteron class is the only class to have no bonus for their industrial ships. However there are five flavours of Iteron, with the MKV being the best but the one which will take longest to train for.
The Badger (Caldari) MKII is the best industrial for shields, it can also be used for light electronic warfare, should you find yourself in the position to be running ammo to frontlines.
The Mammoth (Minimatar) is the fastest industrial and the Minimatar line of industrials give a 5% speed bonus per level.

The mammoth, for my money. Fastest and strongest of the industrials. While not the biggest, it more than makes up for the lack of "uber" cargo space with armor and structure. It's a perfect blockade runner.
Gradient is hiring. Read our Code of Conduct before applying.

Sadly, the Bestower is an ugly ship, and style is everything.

Bar none the Iteron Mk-V is the best Indy there is. Longest to train for almost understates it though. It'll take you roughly 30 days to train-up for one (give or take but a LONG time).
What is really puzzling is the weird crappiness of other Gallente Indies. If you train Gallente Indy buy ONLY the Mk-I (and only if you have no desire to go further since it stinks) or the Mk-III. The Mk-III is decent although you can do better. Skip the Mk-II and by all means avoid the Mk-IV like the plague. Why the Devs built the Mk-IV to suck worse in every respect behind the Mk-III besides a very minimal cargo increase is beyond me.
The Badger-II almost has some offensive power. It is a hauler that can pass as a medicore EW ship too.
Bestower is best all around for ease of entry and ease of improvement. Fully skilled oout in a Bestower is only second best in hauling to a Mk-V and it is a lot easier to manage.

I would have to say the Armageddon, Temptest or Megathron. is unfortunate that the cargo hold is small, but these indies can defend themselfs and with right devices can attain speeds above the 100m/s mark. some can even sustin it for more than 2 minutes. they also have decent firepower and make good fast miners. but the draw back is cost and the amount of time to train. is comparable to training for iteron mk 5, only slight bit longer, depending on your attributes of course.
there you have it. am sure I missed a couple of these big hardcore industrail types, am sure some others can provide there names My alt hates me, I don't know why. he won't even talk to me anymore |

All of the ships you listed are battleships and not industrial ships. Using them for hauling is just...not right. Unless they have an exceedingly valuable cargo.

Apparently you. From your own post...
"I would have to say the Armageddon, Temptest or Megathron. is unfortunate that the cargo hold is small, but these indies can defend themselfs..." [highlighting mine]
They are not indies but battleships. If you were clear on that point why label them as indies? Battleships can also go a lot faster than 100 m/s. With proper fittings well over 1,000 m/s is possible.

The best indies are of course the Leviathan, Avatar, and Soltueur

Slight adjustment, the Iteron class of industrials now have a special ability.
5% less cap needs when warping per level.

I use all of the Indys for a variety of reasons from time to time. I have the Mammoth for medium cargo and speed and the besty as my super hauler. I use the Badger 2 for indy mining in .8 or higher. I can sit there and get shot for hours and not have to warp away from NPC pirates it just takes it and keeps on mining. If I do get tired of listening to the railgun blast hit my hull then detonate the smart bombs a few times. The hull noises stop.
The Iteron 1 SUCKS, Totally worthless. Have not really played with the Iteron 3 or certainly not the Masters Degree program it takes to fly the It 5

I prefer the Bestower right now, can get my cargo space up to 7800 with 18% expanders, and using cargo containers, 10113. Also have 4 afterburners, can get up to 400 m/s. Of course I have come across tissue paper that is stronger than it's shields. -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |
