Is it just me or has anyone else noticed this ?
A BB equip's with the following ::
Hi slots :: Heavy Beam + 3x H50 ML's Med Slots :: 2x Afterburners + EM Shield Hardener + Thermal Shield Hardener + Med Shield Booster + Medium Cap Battery Low Slots :: 2x Cap Power Relays
1199 cap and 165 sec cap rechg
I can warp this setup 118 au with nearly no cap drain but I can warp a Celestis the same distance but with massive cap drain.
The Celestis is setup with this ::
Hi Slots :: 2x 250 mm Rails + 2x H50 NL's + Small Photon Smartbomb Med Slots :: 1x Afterburner + 1x med shield booster + 1x med cap battery Low Slots :: 1x Reactor Control Unit + 3x Cap Power Relays
1249 cap with 139 sec cap rechg
The Celestis has a little more cap but 18% faster cap recharge rate than the BB but the BB's cap usage is always a lot lower than that of the Celestis even when both ships are doing the same things.
Is this a bug or is the BB supposed to be a far superior ship ?
Personally I love both of my BB's but man the BB is just a far better ship than almost any other Gallente ship (I also own 2x Thorax as well as a Dominix); the only other ship that performs on par with the BB is the MOA which is also a Caldari ship although the MOA's cap usage is not as low as the BB's.
Anyone else got some similar experiences ?

It's all about the sweet spot, the larger the cap, the large the sweet spot. Order out of Chaos |

If you are taking those stats from experience over the last few days of gameplay then they may be misleading.
Read the forum posts titled "cap bug" or similar. I have noticed that the cap usage can depend a lot on the system you are currently in.
This really needs to be fixed asap.

to the first poster,
Not really. I own a battleship and a dozen cruisers. You can't make a judgement about cap use these days because of a graphical bug on the cap display. Sometimes it consumes too fast, sometimes it does not consume at all. Sometimes it just disappears completely, sometimes it reappears all of a sudden. Whatever is happening on the display it no longer reflects the actual cap situation.
The setup on the blackbird, with only one heavy beam, consumes much less cap than on the Celestis with two rails and a smartbomb. Personally I use 3 250mm rails in my Celestis, and planning to put 3 250mm rails in my Blackbird as well.
Generally, Amarr ships got the best cap, best powergrid, and has a bonus in reducing cap use with laser weapons. The power infrastructure of a Thorax is a shame compared the Maller, which is the best of any cruiser in the game.

When you warp all the needed cap is taken instantly and thus recharge rate of cap is of no benifit while in warp, the reason you warped longer in the blackbird although it has less total cap is only related to the cap bug.
I have been able to run all my modules forever and never go below 98% cap while at other times I go fast down just by activating my sensor booster.

Which matters, why?
Cap recharge for the two ships is pretty much the same;
maller: 1200 / 430 = 2.7907 thorax: 1100 / 393 = 2.7990
Heh.. It's actually 0.3% better for the thorax.
As for powercore... I think you're supposed to use hybrids on a thorax. Someone is bit too hung up on lasers, me thinks. ;)

Maybe it's a bug but I have seen my Cap recharge "while" warping. If the warp trip takes long enough the cap is fully recharged upon arrival.

The Maller has a larger Cap so it takes longer to deplete. It also gets a larger boost from cap enhancing modules like power diags and the Energy Management skill.

Noone else know about the bb being bugged? It's weight is wrong. Meaning it can warp almost endless amounts with very little cap usage.
