I like the way you are handling the close of this auction. It's better for the seller ensuring he gets the best price, and better potential buyers in that they don't have to worry about sniping or being online at X time to place their bid. I for one will henceforth be running high value auctions in this way, and hope others follow suit. +1 you're doing it right.

Okay, currently highest bid is rookies pod with 201b since Jess Ica's post is edited (thus invalid).
So, at 2011-12-23 at 09:56 this auction will currently end.
Also, I consider the interested bidders fully assembled (rookies pod, Jess Ica, Xai Li Shun). If Jess Ica's offer of a final all-in round is acceptable to the others, it is fine by me as well, if the current 12h sniper cooldown is extended again.
I do not have a problem with keeping the 12 hours going either though, I have to work over the holidays anyways :D
Also, at this point, contact me via mail before you bid if you are not one the three mentioned earlier, or I'll likely consider you a troll and declare your bids invalid. |

And while pondering over my previous post, I came up with a fun new rule I should have thought of earlier.
Sniper rules only apply for bidders that have previously bid during regular auction time.
This is in effect immediately and spares me the decision if you are trolling or not. Was plenty of time to get a bid in. And since no one new bid since regular auction end, I'm not even screwing someone over. |

It appear no good deed goes unpunished.
I introduced this - I thought - as a favour to the people currently bidding so that no trolls could simply delay the auction end without really affecting the outcome.
But Jess Ica correctly pointed out to me, that that rule is not completely unambiguous in the last 12 hours of regular auction time when sniper rules already start kicking in, and Xai Li Shun bid for the first time in that time-window. My intent was to limit further bidding to bidders that bid before 2011.12.22 20:00 ("regular auction end" in my mind). I think this is also clearly evidenced by the fact that I thought I did not screw someone over, so did not think I would remove Xai Li Shun from the auction.
There was nothing fishy intended, just slightly ambiguous wording in what was planned as a friendly gesture.
I see no really good way out of this besides removing that auction rule again. So, that's what I am doing. The late addition to the auction rules is removed. We'll keep this on the original auction rules until it comes to a natural end. This year or next year.
