Cant we just get rid of these star gates? - use jump drives (proper ones that can be operated on your own) and fuel - Like frontier elite II - the better the jump drive the further you can jump and the more fuel required. (or leave the gates where the are for people without jump drives in addition)
And what about Planet Landings?
Pleaseeeee

There are two solutions to your problem:
1. Eve and Frontier are different games, although obviously one is inspired by the other. If you want ships that can jump between stars without gates, play Elite.
2. If you want to jump between stars in Eve without using gates you can. Learn to fly a capital ship.

i do not agree, we have 0km BMs which CCP fought against long and hard until it became clear the battle had really been lost with the massive use of instas in the game and the lag it was causing.
CCP always wanted ship speed to be an element within the game and clearly they could have just deleted all insta BMs and never instigate 0km warping but the backlash would have been hideous within the player base.
I dont think they are in the business of dumbing down this game unless backed into a corner to do so. And I really hope that is an attitude they maintain.
Gates are important to the game mechanics IMO.

1. I dont have a problem? i was making a suggestion. 2. Elite is a very old discontinued game - i was mierly giving one example of where it has been used in the past. 3. in a capital ship - you cant go anywhere you like with jump drives - it rakes someone at the other end to open a path for you.
i can help but think... sometimes, people are more rude on here than they need to be - i mean whats all that about?

Heh, funny you should say that. I recently read somewhere that Nasa are planning on starting a moon base, with construction to begin in 2020.

You know, your probably right - they do they slow eveyone down considerably though. Planet landings would be amazing - oh and not flying through things too :D
you know im only speculating, i just think that it would make the game as good as it really could be

Funney they should annouce it after years and years of feet dragging a few months after the chinese stated that they wanted to have a "permanant presence" on the moon by 2025. _______________________________________________

I actually saw a moonbase which was in existence in 1999 but something went wrong and the moon was blasted out of orbit, every Sunday afternoon there was an update about it on the TV during the 1970s.
What NASA says to get funding and what NASA does when it has the funding are rather different things.

EVE has taught us that we're lagging behind in POS spamming our system. Right now just anyone could come in and shoot our station!

Aww ur kidding :( - i emailed him about elite 4 - he actually replied - apparently its being released some time early 2008 - it seems that eve may have some stiff competition soon.
He also told me that sim coster or some other coster simulation game was relesed to test a new physics engine. but he wasnt too specific
