Maybe sounds noobish, but I simply dont know how to do COSMOS in empire smartly. The way i imagined is leveling up an NPC corp standings, then find its level 2 cosmos agent and start doing missions. OK, he gives me one mission, i do it (for crap money), and then he gives me the same again.
Should I do it again and again, till some storyline mission, or what? Or should I build up the standings higher, and then do the level 3 agents' mission? And will he give me one and only one mission again?
Why arent cosmos mission chained together, or something?
Please someone with cosmos experience help me. THNX

The information available for cosmos on this forum isn't great, we could really do with a complete guide being written for it.

That agent is just giving you corp increases...not fraction. There are 2 in each empire cosmos systems that ask for some hacking parts...they will forever ask you to get them...after you do it once, it is ok to decline.

Unless you miss grinding spawns like other MMORPGs I'd avoid cosmos. Eve has much better gameplay options than that. Pralay |

Thanx mates, slowly i start to understand: there are the repeatable, "give some stuff for standing" kind of cosmos missions, and there are non-repeatable, storyline cosmos missions.
And after all, when u have the BPCs from the storyline ones, u have to hack and analyze a lot for the components/skills/etc.
Nice.
Problem is after Revelations its much too hard to analyze/hack the cans, coz the respawn rate was increased, so i simply cant open the hacked cans, coz guards spawn too fast, and u cant open it when they are close to it.

Bring friends! Those 'plexes can be really tough solo, especially since you have to give up a slot for the codebreaker. Hell, you need one guy just to pop the wrecks so your PC doesnt keel over and die.
It can be a nightmare if some tard warps in, tries to fight the rats in his ferox or something then warps out leaving you with the full aggro.
In short, if you're gonna do it solo you'd better be well prepared now.

As you can tell I do a little different Cosmos missions.
The ones I found tho are a little strange. It seems that a level 1 mission is not the same as a level 1 in empire. My surprise to find 1.5mill BS was overwhelming. When they say wave they mean wave!
Now is the time to really get into this and break the back of the market. Seems I need to divulge. -------------------------------------

What kind of ships do you need to do Cosmos missions (or just use any of the farmable sites)? I guess some of the locations are DED rated so you can't use a BS etc.

Be careful with these cosmos agents, they dont mess around. Even if they appear to be Lvl 1, Im told they are more like Lvl 4 Missions. Go unprepared and you will suffer the fate that I did.

There are 4 types of agents in Empire COSMOS:
1. Low level archeology/hacking 2. Normal storyline 3. Special trade 4. "Hidden"
1. Low level archeology/hacking agents dish repeating missions where you need to acquire items form hacking or archeology complexes. I think this agents role is pure introduction to the hacking and archeology. So, you can do it once and forget about it, since rewards and standings are abysmal.
2. Normal storyline agents dish sequence of missions. You can do it only once. If you fail, agent will not offer you mission again. There are many low level ( lvl2) storyline agents, especially in Okkelen.
3. Special trade agents offer one time faction BPC in exchange of rat tags. They require insane faction ( not corp) standings. This agents usually located near the stargates.
4. "Hidden" agents are not really hidden, so you don't need probes to find them, but they hide inside the complexes. They usually offer very lucrative rewards, like rare or high profile implant or faction bpcs.
Final note: COSMOS agents don't care about your corp standings. They only interested in your faction standings, therefore it's pretty pointless trying to raise your corp standings in order to run COSMOS missions. Generally, all COSMOS agents has 0 quality and you will need the following factions standings to use them:
for lvl 1 = 0.0 for lvl 2 = 2.0 for lvl 3 = 4.0 for lvl 4 = 6.0

That's not true for all agents. I ran a Lvl 3 Qual 0 Sarum Family COSMOS agent (the one in Ani constellation) but my Amarr Empire standing at the time was only like 2. _______________________

I don't think it's possible any more. I believe it was CCP fix to the lack of content in Gallente COSMOS.

In the Gallente "skeleton comet" complex, the second or third room in the survey site has some Serpentis containers in which can be hacked. They have overview type "spawn container".

Fly to agent. Talk to agent. Run mission. Fly to agent. Talk to agent.
Sounds easy enough.
Archaeology and hacking missions are repeatable. All but Archaeology and Hacking missions are one-shot per pilot regardless of the outcome. Agents normally have a series of missions, normally ending in an important missions. Sometimes you have to finish the missions for another agent before you get those from another. Sometimes you need an item from another mission or agent for getting a mission elsewhere. --*=*=*--
The cause for this is not yet known, but we do have a possible fix in testing. by Sharkbait | 2006.09.20 |

There are special spawn containers for hacking and archaeology. They're normally guarded by npc. Normally the agent doesn't tell you where you can get stuff he wants. What looks like a courier mission can often result in an all out war. --*=*=*--

Last night I did my first mission that required Archaeology. Went to the location the Agent suggested(Key point in Cosmos missions read "all" the details the agent gives you. Unlike regualar agent missions cosmos mission you need to read so you know what so do) and used the codebrack on debry(had teh icon of a can in over view) to get the item I was looking for. Was pretty suprised I got the item from the first thing I used the codebraker on... lucky I guess.
Dynamic Endeavors is now Recuiting.!!
Contact me in game for deatails about the corp. Mostly a PvE corp, with Jump clones avaiale in Empire and 0.0. |
