its all about reputation martin, if 50% of your alliance is deemed to be asshats, its better to assume that the rest are asshats than assume that they will care about their word.

you side with the asshats and condone what they do by flying with them.
your alliance have choices if adressed right away, you can boot the offending players and refund the guy his ship and gear and give him a apology(to late for that now though)
if you dont like the way your alliance/corpmates operate like in this case you can simply tell them to **** off and leave the corp/alliance, i did that when a CEO ordered me to fill shuttles with bookmarks to lag out other people.
in the end it comes down to personal integrity, do you have any or do you not?
I have the integrity but I lack the authority. I am not siding with the offending members of the corporation. I was just saying judging an entire alliance based upon a few individuals is something that should be frowned upon.
lets say cyvok advocates ascn breaking ransoms for example. it would be reasonable to judge, since cyvok is one of the higher ups, that ascn says it is okay to break ransoms.
dont be in PC if you do not want to be associated with the likes of tiller

its not what he lost, its the meaning that transcends the isk value of the ship. it is the basic principle that someone would break a 1v1, much less over a cruiser
