So I am happily putting random doom. intercepters into structure in ec when I get jumped, no big deal I made a mistake, and got caught in a bad position. That is not what I am ****ed about. Instead of warping to a safe, my screen jumps and my pod warps to 100km off of gm gate, and freezes. Bye bye pod because of aggression timer. I really don't know what can be done about this, you reaally do need the aggression timer, and loggoffski is bad. any ideas/suggesstions on what I could have done?

This is what I do:
- Quicly hit ALT when the battle begins (to preload the moon markers. YOu won't have time to wait later on)
- Keep on fighting...
- There is a point where you know you're going down, this is the time to press ALT again and select one of the moons you see (thank god the markers are preloaded so you don't need to wait)
- On the selected item overview, keep hammering the "WARP TO" button BEFORE your ship exploded and keep hammering until you see your pod in warp (just ignore the UI freezing, keep hammering, you'll be in warp when the lag ends)
- Now when you land out of warp, make yourself a safespot normally or just keep on warping around the system
The reasoning behind this is that you DON'T want to wait for the lag but YOU DO want to start sending warp to-requests to the server BEFORE you explode. Your ship will be uncontrollable when it starts to explode and the requests will end up in queue and will commence when your pod becomes available. At this point you'll have a frozen UI but it doesn't matter and the server has already initiated warp for you (because of the commands in queue)
Never lost a pod this way =)

another simple one...
turn off flash indicators on wallet and mail.
when you loose a ship, you get a mail and isk, you really DONT want to be told about them at that time!

I thoroughly endorse codepic's trick. The only times I've ever lost a pod using this method has been due to.....er......."human error". -----------------------------------------------

And just to remind you. Especially in fleet ops, don't hammer like 60clicks/sec.. 1 or 2 clicks/sec is just fine and will be enough. Anything beyond don't make a difference and will only contribute to the lag. Which might lead to some friendly to loose a pod Free Eve Wallpaper | Corporate Bookmarks |

Thank you for the tips, but what do you do when you freeze up (and have to reboot comp) after you warp the pod away? I froze after my pod came out of warp, right next to a stargate.

In that case I'd either petition (if I had +4 implants while pvping) or just ignore it. Risks is part of the game. Computers hanging up is part of computers in general and it's part of the risk in online gaming.
I've never heard of someone having a problem you described or that such after-warp-lockup would be common in PvP in general so I doubt general rules or tips apply. As it's said before, s**t really happens. Free Eve Wallpaper | Corporate Bookmarks |
