Are you sure its not the warning that there might, at some point, someone else might log in? Did you actually try to log in? If you get kicked out after you logged in THEN you are fighting with someone else.
But you right. With the current people using miningbuddy more demo sites are really required :/
Well its now 8:45am EST USA and I still cant view the demo. I type the username: demo and password: demo and I get reverted back to the same login screen. Would really like to take a look at it.

On a fresh install, the first account created you should be able to supply a password. Worked for me

I had this problem, what I did was used the 'forgot password' link, and it sent me a password to login with.

Hi Tha'Vena,
Can I make a suggestion :)
In the in game browser it would be helpful if the input fields were coloured to show up from the background. They are currently showing up as the same as the background for me which makes them difficult to find. Colouring them white to let them show up against the black background should work :)

Edited by: Tha''Vena on 30/01/2007 01:31:13 Hello all!
Version 0.5.7 of MiningBuddy has been released. This is a major patch release and I urge everyone to upgrade as soon as possible. You also need to update your sql tables, a corresponding sql update file is, like always, included. New in this version is (still in testing) the updater, which checks for updates on a regular basis. Many other modifications have been done, like real sorting of ore types and also, adding support for all ore types in the game, like concentrated veldspar. I also included all the requests from the forum, like the current time, a "launch of op"-button, more failsafes and more.
So grab your copy of all-new MiningBuddy 0.5.7 today, and be sure to head to the forums - MiningBuddy, as you can see, needs and thrives from your input alone! So help us help you!
To the mods: Doesn't this work, the only of this kind not warrant a sticky I wonder?

Just curious before I try this program.
Having a character that is specialized in Mining Leadership bonus'....is there any functionality in this program that helps track the amount of aid one gives from the leadership area of mining?
Usually I am ratting, while giving bonus to main miners, so my bonus would only be reflected in the increased yield of other miners....does that mean this program will increase their payout because 'they' are showing more participation/yield in the op?
I realize it's probably nigh impossible to track leadership mining bonus'...but never hurts to ask.

MiningBuddy does not work this way.
MB takes the total sum of hauled (not mined!) ore and then distributes the ISK among the members, taking multiple factors into consideration. If you joined up you'll "only" notice by an increased mining yield.
As MB only calculates on ores already hauled and not future possible projections on peoples skill, there are no skills or bonuses needed fo r the calculations. Tha'Vena Director of Internal Affairs, Autaris, Inc.

Aside from that, this way people are actually awarded by the effort they put into the process itself. Just being in the same system minding your own business and asking compensation for that is so-so :)
Congratulations and the sticky Tha'Vena! You deserve it!

Thanks for being a provider of good tools.
Could you explain a little bit about what you the typical usage flow would be from a miner's perspective, a hauler's perspective and someone providing security?
And in what ways it allows for tracking, payouts, cut for the corps, etc. Is it setup for payment based on time participating out of the total pool, or can it be setup so the guy mining with the Hulk gets a larger share than the guy mining in a cruiser.. etc. Trying to get a general idea as for what kind of payment/distribution schemes the software is designed to handle.
Thanks.

Heh.
Thats like writing documentation, which, I also still had no time to do. Regarding usage flows: Try the demo site, play with it. :)
Currently all participants will recieve the same amount of share, only limited by their amount of time with the operation. However, the code that increased and decreases the share according to shiptype is already coded and in there, just deactivated until I am satisfied that the code is robust enough.
Back to coding. Tha'Vena Director of Internal Affairs, Autaris, Inc.

Just wanted to bump this for others who haven't heard of it. To date I've only signed up for the free hosted version and have run one test op to test it out, but it looks like it will be a *huge* help on the next big op.
A quick question though: is anyone using the Divisions module? Would using this tool make it possible to divide payouts so that XX% goes to those in the mining division, and YY% goes to those providing protection?
Or is this a future feature, and right now "everyone gets an equal cut" is the way everyone uses the tool?

MiningBuddy is available free of charge. No strings attached. I don't ask anything for it.
Not anything? I do ask this: Respect the copyright! You can do whatever you want with MiningBuddy, even sell it, rent it, modify it. But you can only do so because I granted you these rights with the copyright. So its within your interest to keep the copyright intact. The copyright also demands that my name, as the intellectual proprietor, will stay intact.
For some people this is still too high a price, and they don't abide by these simple rules. So if they don't listen to copyrights, I don't listen to my promise of secrecy.
So without further ado i present to you...
The List.. OF SHAME!
These sites run (or did at some point) copies with removed copyrights and/or did remove my name :
o http://umta.biz/ (Version run: UMTA) o http://track.terran-alliance.com/ (Version run: Terran Tracker 9.0.0)
I naturally contacted their service providers already to ask for their clients removal.
The up-to-date list of shame can be found here: http://forum.miningbuddy.net/viewtopic.php?p=1241#1241 Tha'Vena Developer of MiningBuddy signature removed (max dimensions 120px * 400px) - please email us if you want to know why - Pirlouit([email protected]) |
