no offense guys, but why in all that is holy did only those with low skill points(under 800k) get SP injection.
you do the math and work it out. when i first started this game i had under 100k(probably mor like 50k) skill points, and getting to 800k was a milestone, i also paid my account fees to reach that level, now the new guy comes along and is given the skill points(3 months give or take) for nothing, while we are given a clone upgrade for free(whoopdi do) ill take the skill points instead please.
this is about being fair here. and its right that we are all given the increase say 750k SP. no matter what our SP total. that or ill take 3 months free game play thanks to compensate.

3 months is a bit much, 1 month more like it. Oh and as much as I'd like to see my Drone Interfacing jump to lvl5 by itself I don't see it happen, sry mate.

There's a very long and well written dev blog, but since you didn't take the time to look for the answer (i'm guessing) then i'm not gonna go find it and post for you. But look to the left of the screen and hit dev blogs, and you'll find it easily enough.

Theory is if you have over 800k you really don't need a boost as you're ahead anyway. CCP are simply trying to get newbs into the fun parts of the game faster.

yes as a matter of fact i did read it. how do, you think i knew about it to complain tosser(im guessing your a tosser i could be wrong but). and i was mearly pointing out the fact that they have been saying for ages that there are no short cuts to skill points, and low and behold they make the new players more useful and give me a clone to keep me placated, i think we should have all had sp boost. that way new players can fly there ship faster, and the rest of us have nothing to complain about :P

Exactly why I argued that no one should of got a boost. But people by nature only can identify with what is happening right now or at the latest a month or so back. So all the yahoos argued that if you were new enough that you would be passed up by a brand new noob in SP, then you should get a boost. No one seemed to "get it" that each and every one of us was at exactly the same point that the noobs that got boosted were at at some point and the only difference was our respective point on our own timelines.
CCP's solution doesn't make good logical sense. It only makes sense to people who's logic is more of an emotional thing based on poor long term memory and questionable math skills.

So based on that... no real point in arguing it. /shrug

You didn't get anything because you already had 800K skill points. Since new players begin with 800k the only people who deserved to be bumped up were those under 800k at the time. It's a pretty easy to understand concept if you think about anything but yourself. -- Lil Miner Newbie Skills Roadmap | CCG Card Lookup |

I dunno why everyone is so, well, rude about this. Roddic has a legitemate and fair point, and of course he's bringing it up because it affects him, most people are primarily worried about issues that affect themselves.
Personally I think it would be good if people were all given some additional SP based on how long they've played, up till about a year, or maybe 6 months. This would help redress not having to train level 5 basic learning skills for example. Past a year you've already benefited from those level 4-5 learnings I think but no i havent done the math on it.
I have a friend who started like 5 months ago and then created alts to do various things, he basically wasted probably half his training time on his account since he started, if he started a new account today with new alts he'd be caught up in like a month.
So I certainly sympathize with Roddic, and anyone else who is disadvantaged by this change. At the same time, its a good change overall, lets new people get into the game faster, and the 800k sp cut off is an ok one, CCP had to choose a point at which they would give a boost to, and they did. In almost every change there are some winners and some losers, in this case Roddic comes out a bit behind, sorry dude.

So in the period that you trained up to those 800k skillpoints, you didn't gain any experience with the game? You must not forget that there is no difference between a new player with 100k SP or a new with 800k SP. They don't know anything about the game. Yes the 800k player can fly a few better ships and have shorter training for some of the higher skills but he's still a noob. You have alot of experience with the game that he doesen't have, and in my book thats much much more worth then 800k skillpoints. ----------------------------------------- I'm baaack!!

I can see both sides of this tbh but im happy that my alts can be in AFs with about 2 weeks training.
you could argue something similar for the lowered skills for learning/salvaging/tractor beams etc
As it goes if it keeps new players coming to the game im for it.
