Firefly is some peace of **** sci-fi series with cowboys in space and no money for decent props even, I'd rather be in Saw IV than play that.

Haven't read the link (refuse to visit slashdot), but first, I think "End of Eve" is just plain unlikely. Second, it has a large licensed brand behind it, and that means they will be trying to milk it for everything it's got. That means mass appeal, and that means carebearisation.

see, if CCP were to make a firefly MMO - than i might be feeling ok.
But if they make it a carebear-mmo - uck...
edit: not - its FOX who are the instigators, not Joss Whedon. That doesn't sound promising at all!

Have you people looked at the website of the ENGINE they've chosen for this thing?

I'm not even sure it supports spaceflight. The heck with "ending EVE", I have serious doubts this will even see launch, especially in that "2008" timeframe they talk about. So many people just don't understand the work that goes into making an MMO, even when you have a prebuilt engine...

I would love to see an MMORPG in the Firefly universe. However, like others I'm kinda sceptical because 99% of the new MMORPGs are all the same thing with different graphics (except for EVE) 
Firefly rocks though!!!

I liked Firefly, and will probably give it a try when (and if) it gets released. But nothings making me cancel my EVE account, not while this game remains alive and kicking. I lubs my greasy Gallentean and his Space Whale
