The Oyeman Incident has resulted in a curious outcome in Gallente space, where capsuleer cosplay is a popular pastime.
At a recent event, held in Coriault constellation last weekend, a number of people were dressed as Nauplius and his "demons", following the widespread publicity of the heretic Nauplius's actions in allegedly summoning demons.
Several of these cosplayers won competitions for their portrayal of Nauplius and the demons, with most choosing to portray the demons as horned red-skinned women, and portraying Nauplius in a golden robe.
Not all convention goers were pleased by the appearance of the Nauplius and demons cosplayers.
"Those demons are just naked women wearing red bodypaint !", complained one convention attendee, dressed as a Quafe Girl. "Horns and paint and duct tape over the naughty bits is like, no effort ", said another attendee, dressed as an Imperial Templar. "Man, this sucks. I lost to a bunch of naked girls in the main competition, and came fourth in the Kruul lookalike category. Zor's gonna pay for not letting me work on my outfit, I tell ya", said an individual giving their name as "Kruul", the infamous kidnapper.
The Oyeman Incident has also drawn the attention of several interpretive dance choreographers, who claim that the "demon summoning" ritual, and the space battle that destroyed the temple, provide ideal material for interpretive dance productions.
Khanid Kingdom and Amarr Empire officials, when informed of these developments, were bemused for the most part.

Nearly nude cosplayers? It seems the Heretic was right when he said that a great evil would be unleashed upon this plane.

Our Gallente cultural reporter, has just informed me, that what you are asking about may indeed be occurring.
A Dodixie based interpretive exotic dance troupe is currently staging a production of "The Oyeman Incident", which features red painted female dancers as demons, and silver/grey painted dancers as "Goonfleet Feroxes".
The show culminates in the destruction of the tower, which is portrayed by a human pyramid of gold and red painted dancers, to represent the colours of the tower.
Apparently, it's quite the spectacle.
Just the facts.

Criticisms aside, a portrayal of ritual sacrifice, albeit one mediated through interpretive dance, may nonetheless have some value in spreading word of the true Faith.

I fear that convention goers may wish to avoid any particularly realistic cosplays of Nauplius at future events. I've no doubt the Butcher has it in his mind that if he were to sacrifice these pop culture 'demons' he could likely summon real ones.

There really are a lot of different kinds of people in the world. I guess ritual sacrifices and demons are easier for some of them to take seriously than for others.
