So I've posted this idea 97 times in corp chat, and now waiting for the server to start up I have decided to post it in the hopes of support and flameage. If someone else has posted a similar idea I apologize, point me in the direction of that thread so I can post love and support.
The idea is a skill related to the amount of time between jump clone useage, currently that time is 24 hours. I propose that ccp create and introduce a skill that would reduce that time.
Bear in mind I say REDUCE and not ELIMINATE
I was thinking a reduction of 4 hours per level would be nice, that way at level 5 people would still have to wait 4 hours between using jump clones. That would indeed be a powerful skill to have, but I personally don't think it would be overpowered.
If you think the idea is stupid or perhaps 4 hours is to much and 2 hours is better plz post your input.

as it is jump clones are only handy in either, leaving a clone with implants, or crossing very large distances quickly and not expecting to be back in your orginal clone for days.
if a skill is not implimented then maybe a 24 hour timer on each jump clone; ie jump out of one clone into another and then to another without waiting, but not being able to return to either of those two clones for 24 hours. this would alow people to move where they are needed without having wait 24 hours, limited only by the number of clones that you have as to how many jumps you can.

fantastic idea, although for my two cents I think 4 hours per skill level is a bit much...perhaps two.
And I really like the idea of limiting it by the jump clone itself, rather than the time frame.

12hours should be min
2hours per skill lv
But really it would be better just to change the default to 12 and not create more skill req. Pralay |

WHY? why do you want train another useless skill ? Cant you just ask to ccp to allow using jump clones 2 times in 24 hours
Originally by: Voltron I propose that ccp create and introduce a skill that would reduce that time. Volt

You could do it that way, I was just keeping with CCP's trend of having a skill for everything. Plus it would mean having to put in some time to earn the right to jump more often.

Even 2 hours / level would be great for me, since it's often about 16 hours or more between play sessions (stupid work... stupid sleep...).
As a Rank 3 skill I would immediatley train to 4.

Think there were lot of discussion about the idea when jump clones were introduced. Perhaps search for those threads to see if got any new ideas?
IMHO, the such skill would be as good as 'give us skill that allows us to instajump to XXX systems away without use of star gates'.
That is, sure it sounds a nice thing to have, but would break game too much, would make it much smaller world.
You know, it's a computer game; CCP doesn't have to make us work for things; instead of mining we could just fill in what ores we want and they would appear on our hangar.
Some things are worth of inconvenience, trouble and time for the game. I believe instatravel the jump clones allow are one of those things; they should not be made too easy.

Sounds a bit like, "Think before you jump."
IMO it should not be less than 16 hours with max skills.
Otherwise clone-jumping would be alike popping out for lunch. And it shouldn't be.

Either that, or simply 2 jumps per day would be nice. I could stand being able to jump out for pvp, and jump back before going offline for the day.

One of the things I *like* about the mandatory 24 hours, is that it prevents you from jumping to a +5 clone every night before you log off and then back to your pvp char the next day.

The jump clone skill should not be a way of always avoiding long trips or a cop-out of having to use clones with implants. However I like the idea, but I would like to see it implemented so that when you use the skill and jump 4 hours after having already jumped, your timer goes back to 24 for a day, so that you can use the jump clone more often, but not in excess. Or perhaps each time you use it, it goes up- the first time you jump without waiting a full 24 hours, your wait becomes 8, then 12, then 16 and so on. --------------- Logan Weavend- CLS Pilot and Devoted follower of Cuppism.

I have the exact same idea every time I go to use my jump clones! In fact, the 4 hour value is the exact same figure I thought was appropriate too
This skill should definately be introduced. Thank you for taking the time to post it

Originally by: Ford Chicago One of the things I *like* about the mandatory 24 hours, is that it prevents you from jumping to a +5 clone every night before you log off and then back to your pvp char the next day.
I assume this is only because you don't have +5 implants
Seriously though, implants can have a significant impact on ship stats/setup... what if you could only change your ship every 24 hours?! That would suck right? 4 hours would allow you to change implants a few times over the weekend instead of being stuck with a particular implant setup for most of a weekend.
And 4 hours is still a fair length of time: it's a *long* gaming session for me and a lot of other players. 12 hours may as well be 24 hours for those of us who have jobs
Also, I really fail to see how a 4 hour jump timer would "break" the game. I had a read of the "humourous" rant that one of you linked and can't say I was impressed: though mildy amusing, it really has little relation to what I see suggested here.
Yes players can jump about a bit more to stop them getting bored in a camped station and logging off (oh the horror of letting players with limited time actually play the game! ), but realistically it will only be a jump or two per gaming session maybe a couple of times per week for those players that use them, perhaps? Hardly the end of the universe or Eve as we know it!
Haulers still have to do their hauling, pirates can still do their ganking, etc.. but I could choose my implants at the start of a gaming session depending on how I feel like playing, and hopefully jump back into my +5 clone at the end of it
Finally, with motherships/titans on the rise, jump clones have a lot of potential, but the 24-hour timer just doesn't justify using a slot for a clone vat; with jump timers down to potentially 4 hours, suddenly they actually become useful!
This is a very good idea to a lot of players for a lot of reasons, and it won't "break" Eve.
