So I tried my first level 4 WC last night. I warped in, killed everything guarding the first gate fine with no problems. After warping into the guristas gate, I totally destroyed rapidly. It seemed like I got drone buddy agro, but I thought that the first stop on WC was what you get the buddy agro from. Could someone clarify this for me?
Thanks in advance.

The Guristas side of WC can be fairly tough for someone new to the mission. Basically you warp in right on top of several HAC's and a few BS within 20km of them, so all their shots are at optimal.
Post your setup so we can help.

I haven't run WC in revelation and i've got only experience with other types of WC, however i think the one thing hold true for all of them. In the past the second stage of WC had a ship named "*factionname* spy" which spawned around 90mins after you started the mission. If your drones shot that ship you got full stage aggro on them. I recall a post that sounded like those spies are now spawned earlier, so that might be what happened to you. On the other hand even without stage aggro some spawns tend to aggress if you're coming to close to them which can easily happen if you drones follow a target that orbits you at a larger distance. -------------------------------------- Agent & Mission-Info: http://www.eveinfo.com Evewide Market-Info: http://eve-central.com/ |

I'm using--well was using--a pretty cookie-cutter raven.
6 x arbalest cruise launchers 2 x heavy 'knave' nos
1 x large shield booster II 1 x sheild boost amp 2 x kinetic hardener II 2 x thermal hardener II
3 x bcs II 2 x pdu

This is a shot in the dark as I don't do the Guristas side (too lazy, doing one side is enough for me, I'm after LP's usually) but do you warp in very close to a structure like on the Serpentis side?
The first time I ever did WC I almost lost my ship by getting full stage aggro and I figured out afterwards that I'd managed to bump the structure coming out of warp, which induced full aggro.
I've done it since by forgetting not to smartbomb until out of range

I just bookmark the stage that have full aggro then warp back in at 100km and snipe them. Pretty easy this way. (I use Domi, so I will always get full agro)

Checks out. Might want to try the sniper method mentioned above - it should also be noted that you can avoid the gurista side entirely.
It should also be noted that you did get drone agro - they agro everything regardless of distance in this mission....or when you sic your drones on the spies in the 1st serpentis pocket.
How I handled it was somewhat embarassing - rather then release drones I simply blasted the spies with my launchers. It took awhile, but I was able to destroy them both, get some distance, and clear everything. --------- >>Disclaimer: Anything Nukeitall says is not to be taken seriously. Mostly. |

Also. While Large T2 booster is more or less ok for easier L4 missions in harder missions I would go for XL booster. It just might keep you alive that extra 30 sec to warp away. I personally prefer XL booster with cap charges (x800) - but the latter one is up to personal preference. Other than that it it looks quite solid setup.
