CRUSH BOSS Caldari BOSS PRODUCTIONS	Posted - 2006.12.09 07:36:00 - [1] Ok would like a little info on how some one could do this, Ive been playing since 2004 and have seen many Escrow scams as such but not this good. Please look here -> Linkage As you can see after this guy wanted to sell me a Navy Issue Raven on escrow for 850 mil, cheap i thought .... but i dont trust this guy so we decided on a station trade, well after looking at the info on the Navy Raven he wanted to sell me u can see its nothing but a renamed RAVEN nothing like the Navy Version at all. Have i missed something here, is it possible to build a raven and change its INFO name ? I admit i dont mine or manufacture, so i know very little on this subject, but this would have to be open for a exploit if this is the case. I was soooooo close to buying this it wasnt funny. But as always CHECK ZE INFO YA ..!!! Oh and TWARBY u prat this lil failed scam is gunna cost.. We fight for the ONE - We die for the ONE

Sure they may get the occasional idiot who doesn't pick up on it... but seriously. Eve since day dot has had scammers... CCP should have a form of Competition and Consumer Commission to put these lickers out of business. They have regulations on everything else, and any response from Devs/GMs/etc is just "Buyer Beware"... they're spending all this effort on improving the economy etc, so why not have some form of regulation at least. All they need to do is make items appear as what they REALLY ARE, and not be able to rename them. Simple.

Ye the rename thing, but to be able to modify the DESCRIPTION is just BS .... and thats no Battle ship either. As such they can be labeled neither potential exploits or exploits. I did use the ship name change on crush but what he saw was a Raven with a Raven's description. Anything else was a bug and completly unintentional.

No im sure, first off he tryed to escrow the Navy Raven to me, but the (free form) poped up so i said no, he then went on how he could save me 32 mil by doing free form, i said just put the 32 mil on the price of the navy raven. He asken then would i like to do a staion trade at Jita, 3 jumps away i said ok. Then as the Trade was going to take place i "infoed", (if thats a word) the Navy raven he wanted to sell me, and as u can see it was not right(see pic), it had the correct Description but all the Specs were that of a standard raven. I call this manipulating the client somehow to scam.... not cool..soon to be followed by many a barrage of cruise missiles. We fight for the ONE - We die for the ONE
