What is the point of Assault Missile Launchers (NOT Heavy Assault Missles)? They fire standard light missiles so why use assault missile launchers instead of standard light launchers? I didn't see any explanation in the info tab...

Assault missile launcher have a bit better rate of fire than standard launcher. They do the same DPS as rockets.

They also have much larger magazines. Basically they are the anti-frig missile launcher of choice and typically slapped on a cruiser or BC to swap any would be tacklers.

Better ROF, and they hold more light missiles so less reloading.
They also get affected by cruiser bonuses because they are medium launchers, whereas standard launchers are not affected.

lol um... i dont think i've ever been in a battle that i have ever had to reload in the middle of. seriosly this game needs more EPIC battles :(

Killing frigs and drones.
They also make a nice defender launcher for when you have a free highslot and alittle extra cpu/grid, but not much.
