When engaging a cap fleet, most smart fleets will instantly decide to disengage once a cyno goes up and 200+ more archons start bridging in.
We would bring death to more supers, which EVERYONE wants (yes you do!) if you could not activate cynos in systems with tidi. And if Tidi instantly shut off any active cyno.
I think also that some Hamsters would approve of this.

That would only mean that whoever hits the button first would lag out the system enough to prevent any fleet capable of killing the super blob from jumping in.
However, Boot Archon/Slowcat blobs and Wrecking Ball aren't a thing anymore anyway. Whatevs. |

That's how it worked before TiDi. Except that the other fleet could jump too, not fight, and get slaughtered. Not exactly my definition of fun, especially for the second side.
There is no solution for supers, as long as they'll keep being supers. Modifications to cyno mechanichs won't solve anything. Sadly, we can only hope for a super rework, which is not planned to happen anytime soon.
In case of ponies, keep calm and start running.

Actually what would be more likely to happen, as I've seen time and time again, is for a suitable subcap force to engage an unprotected supercap force of moderate strength, only to have them light the cyno and jump in the archons. Saw this as recently as last week, so it is definitely still happening and still very much a common tactic. Stop the cyno's from lighting tho, and what you would have is basically the two initial forces engaging, and them bringing in reinforcement via gate from the next nearest tidi-free system (usually several jumps away).
Or, the initial force bringing in everyone at the beginning (ie all their archons with them), to reduce the likelihood they won't be able to bring them in later, and the second force, seeing the entire committed first force, can just not waste its time trying to engage. |

-1 just a bad, arbitrary idea to fix a non-problem.
More supers dying would be a cool thing, but the current level of super losses is not a problem that needs some silly, arbitrary mechanics change to fix. Clarification: It's not a problem at all.

Dropping and collecting drones to generate more server load should not be a cyno counter... |

How about this kind of restrictions - all supercaps should burn through Aridia and Derelik first prior to join any fleet/ battle.
Next thing is we need a super heavy interdictor (t2 version of tier 3 bs) with module which will jam work of triage/siege mods on caps.

fix capital cap X-fer arrays so they can't generate cap (possibly also for all sizes except on specialist hulls) and archon blob runs out of cap and suddenly becomes rather more vulnerable.
For posting an idea into F&I:
come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it.....
If your idea can be abused, it WILL be.
