I think you give Ginger Magician too much credit though, I wouldn't call flying a carrier around low sec piracy, I'd call it ganking.

No it is not an exploit. Recently a loot stealing ***** in a slasher tried his luck at our camp.We killed his frigate 4 times in a row.Each time his ship was scrambled and going down he logged off to ensure he was not podded.He then simply relogged got his pod away and purchased another frig in system.Actually we had to refresh our sell orders after this little trip:)
I petitioned this as an exploit and received message from one of the most senior GM's in EVE who told me that it was not considered an exploit and although they are considering ways to make it less appealing there was nothing he could do to help me.
Being as this lame example was hardly isolated I opted to take the same course of action and escape like so many bears do.
