Anyone knows if the Devs said anything about how they will re-institute T2 BPO lottery? If CCP uses the original system, does it mean we have to hoard research points and stop using them for Invention?

For those of you that have converted all your RP into Datacores I thank you at increasing my chance of getting a BPO ----

Are you sure about this? Or are you making an educated guess? If so, your guess makes a lot of sense, but I'm hoping CCP will use a different scheme...

The lottery will be the only way of getting Original Blueprints, unless you buy/get/steal one ofcource.
You can also if you are of the impatient kind buy datacores and hope your BPC assemble are a success.

They haven't said anything about changing the lottery, so the T2 BPO's will be a lottery where each RP is a ticket. The one with the winning ticket will get the BPO. So if you buy datacores with RP your chance on a T2 BPO will decrease.

Given the fact that I won a BPO with only 4k RP, and I've heard about people winning with even less, I'm not too worried about it. Luck is such a big factor of winning, that I doubt spending RP on datacores will make a noticable difference in the number of BPOs you get. |

The reason people win with so little RP is because T2 bpos are seeded by teir, the same amount of BPOs go to each teir of agent, so the lower-level less-used agents give a better chance to win a T2 bpo. Or alternitivly they are seeded by agent and the less-used agents, whicth are the lower level ones, give better chances by being used less.
Or at least those are my theories on the matter.

On a related note...Does anyone know if the T2 BPOs will be seeded so that they're distributed over time, or will they all be gone in a week to those people accumulating RPs over the last several years or so? Can someone just starting out with a research agent have a chance at one?
Seems to me that a newbie doing research should have a chance to score one of them.

1. They usually take several weeks to get distributed trough the lottery 1b. Especially since on some of the offers pleople respond to slow (for whatever reason) and the bpo remains in the lottery until it is accepted. 2. As long as you have a single rp left you have a chance of winning (even though it would be a slim chance) so starting no will give you a chance. If you wait to long , then it may be some time untill the next drawing. 3. So spending rp on invention hurts your chances on getting a bpo, but those rp you spend can get you a bpc of a type you (almost) want. In the lottery there is little control, other than selecting the field you accumulate RP in.

My Termor L BPO came at 8 K RPs. But I have 10 agents so I will buy some data cores and hope one of my agents give me a BPO.
PS I spent ALOT of time to get those agents. Gald my time wasn't a total waste.

i got a bpo with 2k rp. however that was at the start of research and it was in an area (graviton physics) that im fairly sure not many people were researching.
i reckon now you need far more rp to have a chance of winniong.
But to answer the OP im 99% sure that if you use RP to claim datacores then your chances of getting a BPO lessen. However after these new BPO are seeded you may as well cash all your rp in as you will have no chance of getting a bpo after that (realistically) not that you stand much of a chance of getting a bpo at reseed, but there is a very very very very small chance.

how do you have 10 Agents. with research project management at level 5 i can only have 6.
1 agent we all start with and then 1 more for each level of the skill.

I doubt that. Your research points in a certain field give you tickets to the lottery for a BPO that's in the agents list for that research field. So 10.000 RP from Agent A, who offers a certain BPO in your research field, are as good as the same amount with another agent, who offers the same BPO. How many people use that agent and the quality is pointless, your chance is determined by your RP in that field and the total amount of RP of all characters, who compete in that field for the BPO.

Wrong, all rp in a field goes into the same pool. The biggest reason people with low rp gets bpo's is they dont do starship research

Or in other words: Your agent doesn't distribute BPOs, he only gives out lottery tickets, like all the other agents. The better the agent and the better your skills, the more lottery tickets (= RP) per day you get. There is only one lottery for a set of BPOs, not one per agent.
If this was the case ppl wouldn't get 2 or 3 bpo's. And as I don't know how they are distributed I'm not gonna speculate. It's just unfair that ppl who have gazzilions op RP don't get a BPO and ppl who have like 1000 rp win a 10B worth bpo.

Yep, and it's unfair that someone who has spent ú10 on the National Lottery every week for the last ten years has never won more than the occasional tenner, while someone else wins the jackpot with their first ever ticket.

It all comes down to what field you set your research in. If you set an agent doing Starship R&D for instance, you usually get a multiplier on the rp`s per day. In my case one of my agents does Amaar, and if I remember its 200+ per day. If I did a mission a day also, I could very quickly amass a large ammount of RP`s. I am not nieve enough to think that I have a huge chance of winning a BPO,even with the 10`s of thousands of RP`s. Starship much be one of the most popular ones, and everyone will also get the multplier, so mute point really. I have 10 agents, 8 of them Lv4. No agent does the same research in the same field as any other, and all come under the same faction, and in most cases the same corp. I have won 2 BPO`s in the past, I will stress though, they where ones that people would not want. Reason I mention this, they where in research that do not seem to be popular, and the items they could make are being sold for very little.
As an aside, before the patch, my agents gave me a heap of the science books. I was selling them very cheaply. Some are needed for other things apart from research, so skewed a little, but over the last 6 months, it became very obvious which fields people do and do not start research in I would hazard a guess, that those fields that experience has shown people refrain from researching in, give me and the majority of people the best chance of a BPO.

Also i've never gotten a bpo so im not sure how this would work but if you get a bpo offered for 500k rps and you spend 20k on dc's you'd be 20k short to accept the bpo no?
What happens is accepting the 7 day t2 bpo offer eats up all the rp that is left on the agent only. Other agents are uneffected.
This can be ...... distributed.... by ensuring that your RP is spread over multiple agents, multiple bought research only alts, giving a total of upto 18 different bpo offers a single account with its 3 characters can handle, assuming they all have RPM lvl5.
So this begs another question - If each Rp is a ticket, and a player already has a offer he has not claimed, is his RP with that still counted in the lottery for, say offer number 2?
In other words, sitting on a offer for a week before accepting to increase the chance of another offer for no extra RP? So far, I have not seen any confirmation either way on that --- Slot 10 Akemons Modified 'Noble'Zet 5000 implant +8% Armour FREE |

Personally I hope that your RP pool for that agent is out of further lottery draws and that you do not have the possibility to buy datacores at the agent while you have a BPO offer pending.
I would actually regard the possibility of buying datacores with a BPO offer pending as an exploit. ---------------- Mr. Science & Trade Institute |

The maximum number of datacores you can purchase per day is four per agent, at least when I tried it on Singularity. So, I suppose someone could spend 6,000 RPs on datacores the day they are offered a BPO, and perhaps that many every day until their offer expires. Personally, I wouldn't consider it an exploit so much as an incentive to get datacores into the market, especially now when there are so few being purchased.
It's also risky. What if you tried to buy datacores and it voided your offer? Weigh the risk on your own and either gamble or don't.
